Preface

The control software mainly introduces the client’s software characteristics of video wall

controller, configuration and basic operation of the user, please read this manual carefully

before using the video wall controller.

Graphical Interface Format Conventions

Format Significance
[ ] Indicates the window name, menu name, data sheet, for example pop-

This icon indicates the necessary supplement and description of the


instruction of the operation.

Illustration: This software manual is the latest, and its usage mode is different
with others, with the specific difference in debugging & usage mode detailed in other

chapters of this manual.

Chapter 1 Software Introduction

1.1 Software Overview

The control software as our self-developed control software for video wall display system,

it is exclusively used for the management of video wall wall system, windowing, scene

invoking etc., with all the operations carried out on the software and control interface. This

software is fitted into the user’s management host, in order that the user can use

conveniently.

The operation interface of control software is friendly and intuitive, with functional

interfaces equally distributed and controllable conveniently. This software improves the

overall control and management ability of the user to the video wall system.

1.2 Main Features

◼ Managing input signals, user can customized adding multiple signals such RGB, Video,

DVI, HDMI, SDI, HD signal etc., and compiling and managing windows of signal calling,

switching, deleting, and saving conveniently and quickly.

◼ Controlling the invoking of scene mode and naming, change and saving of scenes,

with input signals of device preset in advance, storing scenes, preparing scenes of

various modes, and call the scene as required.

◼ Linked controlling to switching matrix of manufacturers and models and multi

functional equipment.

◼ Offering the communication protocol for secondary development of interface and

central control device, and support for the third parties and control equipment.

◼ Supporting quick positioning of display signal windows, so that screen windows may

be arbitrarily arranged quickly without complex operations, and controlling various

display modes of images.

◼ Positioning modeled grid equalizing, having virtual window mode, and accurately

displaying windows for convenient use.

◼ Window display support pre-layout, under the condition of pre-layout window

operation does not affect the current state of large screen, avoid misoperation

effectively.

◼ Support remote video wall on/off function, preset LCD, DLP Manufacturer instruction,

support customized switch instructions loaded.

◼ Support timing task settings of video wall on/off, scene calling, scene poll etc., perform

the task based on setup time automatically.

◼ The software has perfect system management options, support multi login user

permissions settings, software running status settings, the unique test window is

convenient for sending the debugging instructions of the large screen display system.

Notice: The installation environment of software may not be completely


consistent with the aforementioned required environments, and software will be
installed and used according to the existing equipment.

2.2 Installation Steps of Software

Open packing box of product and find out the optical disk for software installation, open

the folder for control software in this disk and click the“markview” file.

Notice:This software for free installation, without cumbersome installation process,


click to login directly.

2.3 Software Login

Double click “markView.exe” run the software, pop-up [login] interface, as shown below:

Enter the user name and password in user login interface, click [Login] to enter software

interface.

Notice: The default user name is “admin”, no password, after login successfully,
password could be modified, please follow the guidance in this manual of modify the

password to set the user password.

2.4 Interface Configuration

Click [Login], pop-up [Interface Configuration] dialog box, then select device type, control

mode, and Connection port parameter, online echo equipment, for details, see chapter

4.2.1.

Click [login] after setup completed, please wait for a few seconds, enter “the system is

loading date, please wait...” interface:

3.1 Main Interface of Control Software

3.2 Introduction to Parts of Software

A Title Bar Display the software name.


It includes three conventional labels, main, setup, system, the

Chapter 4 System Connection and Initialization Setting

4.1 System Equipment Connection

The software is used to connect the system equipment interfaces before the screen system

control. Support network and serial port, the following description by serial control as an

example.

Using the serial cable connect video wall controller and control PC, controller support

standard serial communication port of RS-232, port is a 9-needle male terminal, with the

description for pin as shown below:

Connect the serial communication port (COM1 or COM2) of computer with the RS-232

communication port of video wall controller host through the RS232 connecting line, use

the control PC to control the video wall controller can be achieved through the software

function setting device parameters.

The basic connection method is as shown in photo below:

On the control card of the video wall controller, there are two RS232 serial ports, one

network for convenient control of the system by the control host, for linked processing and

external control after these ports are connected with other external equipment.

4.2 Device Configuration

4.2.1 Setup

Enter [Setup] function bar, click [Communication], will pop-up [Device Information]]. There

are two modes of serial communication and network communication between the control

PC and controller, users could select one of these connections and configure the

parameters at this interface. As shown below:

⚫ Device Type: Select your device type.

⚫ Serial Communication: Choose “COM”, select the connected serial port number

(Default COM1), Baud rate: 115200.

⚫ Network Communication: Choose “NET”, enter IP address or click [Refresh] button,

search on-line device, select searched IP address.

⚫ At the bottom of the interface is online echo equipment connect port setting bar, enter

echo equipment IP address, after finish setting, click [Confirm] button.

Notice: Serial port number of the software should be consistent with control PC
port number, need set to serial port as the port connect with control PC and video wall

controller if have multi-port in Control PC.

Keeping your Control PC and controller’s IP address on the same network segment when

you use network connect.

Connection state is at the bottom left of the software interface [status Bar], as shown below:

4.2.2 Scale Setting

Software support multi-group at the same time, enter [Setup], click [Config] button, enter

[Format Set] interface.

1) Add group: For one controller control multiple screens group simultaneously, by

adding screen group to achieve implement group control, click [Add] to add a screen

group.

2) Parameter settings: After added screen group, set the corresponding software

parameters according to the actual parameters of the screen, for example, screen

group type (LCD, projector, 4K), group ID, name, arrangement method and single

screen resolution (1920*1080/1400*1050/1366*768/1280*720/1024*768), when you

done, click [Apply] to save the parameters.

4.2.3 Input Source Configuration

Enter [Setup], choose [Custom Input Channel Config] interface, sets the number of channels

for the corresponding input source, the software has the function of automatic detection

of input information, select “Automatically Detection Input Information”, the software

detects the signal input port to which the current device is connected automatically.

4.2.4 Video Wall Config

Support remote screen switch, enter [Setup], choose [Video Wall Config]] interface, set up

different screen switch instruction, built-in screen manufacturers switch instructions,

support custom, set the instruction format in turns, IP, communication port etc., enter

switch instruction, when you done, click [Confirm] to save parameters.

If need add screen manufacturers switch instruction, click [Add Protocol] to enter add

instruction dialog, click [Add], fill in the manufacturer information, switch instruction, when

you done click [Confirm] to save instruction.

4.2.5 Matrix Setting

Support matrix linked control, if user need control linked matrix, enter [Setup], choose

[Matrix Config] interface, click [Add] to add joint matrix, set the number of matrix entries

based on the actual parameters of the matrix device, control instruction, control port

parameters, when you done, click [Confirm] to save parameters.

Chapter 5 Common Functions Operation

5.1 Window Management

Window area is the video wall screen simulation area, shows the operation area of the

controller input signal directly. In the window operate area could invoking by click,

functions like full screen display, zooming in/out, stretch, PIP(picture in picture), overlap,

lock, crop the screen, signal preview, echo are achieved through the window management.

5.1.1 Signal Windowing

Video wall controller automatically reads the input source information from the input

source list, double click the signal icon or drag the icon into the window display area to

open the signal source that needed display on the wall.

5.1.2 Closing Window

Current signal can be closed by clicking the “X” on upper right corner of display picture or

right click the window area click [Close] to close the current signal window.

5.1.3 Modify Signal Name

Right click signal icon on the input source list, pop-up Submenu, click [Modify Name].

Edit the source name on [Modify Name] interface, for example: modify “PC1-0-PC1” to

“PC1”, when you done, click [Confirm] to save.

5.1.4 Set the Signal Type

Right click signal icon on the input source list, pop-up Submenu, click [Signal Settings],

select the corresponding signal type (VGA, Video, Ypbpr, DVI, HDMI).

5.1.5 Subtitles Setting

Right click signal icon on the input source list, pop-up Submenu, click [Subtitles Settings],

select turn on/off current subtitles, click [More Settings] if need edited, subtitle text, subtitle

position, subtitle color can be edited on set subtitles, when you done, click [Apply].

5.1.6 Window Positioning

Video signal can be positioned after window opening, preform quick positioning of

multiple signal windows on display area to facilitate the users, includes quick positioning

of signal window and single screen grid positioning.

1) Quick Windowing

Quick positioning means the selected signal window is quickly displayed in each single

screen, right click signal window, pop-up [Quick Positioning ] or click [Window Positioning]

button on main interface.

Click to select the signal window for the simulated screen, current signal window will be

positioned in selected unit on the [Quick Positioning] list.

Dragging screen unit position, for example: displaying the full screen of single channel

signal, current window display area can be displayed in entire screen when drag the screen

to large screen simulation area.

2) Grid Positioning

Click and select screen unit of grid location on [Quick Windowing]], then select [Four] on

[Grid Positioning] list.

5.1.7 Lock Location

Windows can be locked to prevent human error operation to change the screen window

display location, click[ ] button, the window position will be fixed and immobile when

lock button turns to [ ], click again to unlock.

Or right click window area, choose [Locked] on pop-up menu.

5.1.8 Window Overlap

Windows may be positioned anywhere on the wall and can be placed to overlap other

windows, current window will be displayed on the top when click [Set Top] button.

Current window will be displayed on the bottom when you click [Set Bottom] button.

5.1.9 Window Stretching

1) Free zoom: Put the mouse on lower right corner of window, an arrow shape tip appears

on the screen, can drag the mouse to zoom in or zoom out the window.

2) Zoom to subscreen: Signal can be zoomed to four divisions with one click zooming

in/out, right click signal window, choose [Zoom To Sub-screen], signal will positioned

entire screen on four divisions. ( Using the upper left cornet for reference)

3) Zoom to current screen: The selected window will be set to fill the current screen or

virtual screen when you click [Zoom To Current Screen].

4) Zoom To Full Screen: the selected window will be set to fill the whole video wall when

you click [Zoom To Full Screen] button.

5.1.10 Copy Window

Double click or drag the signal to operation area, as this window is the main window, the

operation area copies a source window automatically when you double click the signal

again, the same signal source window can be duplicated repeatedly.

5.1.11 Cropping Screen

Software has crop screen function, right click window area, click [Cropping] when pop-up

menu, enter the size of the edge resolution that needs to be cropped in pop-up menu.

( Trimming Range: X: 0-960, Y, 0-540), click [Apply] when you done.

5.1.12 Clearing Screen

Software has the clear function by one click, convenience clear current window re-arrange

the signal, select [Clear] to clear all current screens.

5.1.13 Preview

Click [Preview] on window management, below the software will pop-up preview, shows

the video content has been connected, making the user can avoid the error caused.

5.1.14 Echo

Click [Echo] on window management, window operation area will display the same image

with current video wall, back to echo status when click [Echo] again, making the user

operate the content on the display wall from a far distance.

5.2 Pre-Layout

Using Pre-Layout function with large screen display system in some significant applications,

under the Pre-Layout state, the administrator can place the window in the software window

operation area, the large-screen display image is not affected in this process, making the

user can avoid the error caused by administrator.

Click [Pre-Layout] to enter the Pre-Layout state, window operating area does not affect the

big screen operation, the window was placed click [Apply Layout] to send layout

information, screen display Pre-Layout display mode.

5.3 Scene Management

Scene is the display mode of multiple display picture restored as needed, the multiple scene

modes can be set as needed, poll display when required, reduce the duplication of

operations effectively. Meanwhile, display multiple display scenes in chronological order,

usually in seconds, polling display will be performed in accordance with the length of set

time.

5.3.1 Add Scene

Place the signal window as the display requirement on the video wall, click the [Add Scene]

button, pop-up the interface of add scene.

Fill in scene name, scene description, for example: set the current scene name to “My scene”,

scene description “ Conference Room”, when you done, click [Confirm].

5.3.2 Delete Scene

Click [Delete Scene] button to delete the scene when need select the scene in the list.

Or right click “My Scene”, click the [Delete Scene] to delete the scene selected in current.

5.3.3 Change Scene

Double click the scene icon that needs to be updated to retrieve the scene, will save the

current scene mode when you click [Change Scene].

Or right click [My Scene], will update the scene when click [Change Scene].

5.3.4 Retrieve the Scene Synchronously

Retrieve the current scene when double click the scene in the scene list you want to

retrieved.

5.3.5 Poll Time

Right click “My Scene“, click and choose [Add Poll], Scene icon turns to poll scene, set and

add the poll scene in turn which needed.

5.3.6 Delete Scene Poll

Right click the scene icon that you want to remove, will remove the current scene poll

function when click [Delete Poll] button.

5.3.7 Poll Time Setting

Adjust the scene poll time on the scene list (in seconds)

5.3.8 Poll Scene Sequence Setting

Preset scene invoking sequence before poll time, right click and choose “Shift Up, Shift

Down, Set Top, Set Bottom” to adjust the sequence of the scene.

5.3.9 Polling Scene

Start the poll scene has been set, click [Start Poll] button, poll scene will be polled

automatically according to the set time, the scene will be closed when click [ Stop Poll]

again.

5.3.10 Changing Name of Scene

Click the right mouse button on the scene icon that needs to be modified, select modify

scene name, input the scene name, and the current scene name can be modified, click

[Confirm] when you done.

5.3.11 Clearing Scene

Right click in the scene interface blank in the scene, select clear scenes to clear all current

scenes.

5.4 Other Function

5.4.1 Communication Switch

The control software must be used under the communication connected, control the

connect port through click [Communication Switch], check the communication connection

status bar at the bottom left of the software interface.

Switch on: Switch off :

5.4.2 Video Wall Switch

Find screen switch in the software common functions, or right click “Video Wall switch”,
remote control the screen switch, as shown below:

5.4.3 Decoder List Management

1) Add Node
The input of the network video decoder has an independent management list to manage

the network node, support for generating tree topology lists, add root node, sibling node

and child node according to the IP-Video network video system architecture.

Add root node: Right click in the blank list, edit node name and URL address and

manufacture on the pop-up dialog, when you done, click [Confirm] to save root node, after

added, can add a child node at the root node.

Add sibling node and child node: The decoder input list supports a multi-level structure

list, right click root node or child node, choose and add sibling node or child node in pop-

up dialog, save the set and click [Confirm] when edited, can generate multi-level device list

according to the actual device composition structure.

2) Delete Node
Right click node device, click [Delete Node] to delete the selected node device on pop-up

list, as shown below:

Right click node device, click [Modify Node] to modify the node device on pop-up list.

5.4.4 Matrix Config

when using matrix control function, video wall system control matrix can be operated in

the software interface directly, enter [Cascading Settings], then can set the input and output

signal when click joint set.

Chapter 6 Software System Management

6.1 Test Window

The software has a professional test attachment for testing staff to send and receive

instruction information.

Notice: Test tools are used for commissioning professionals, do not use this
function for non professional debugging staff.

6.2 Timing Task

Software has timed task function, support timed execution: Power on/off, Scene Poll

Open/Close, call scene etc..

Enter [System], click [Timing Task], set the timing task details on the pop-up list.

: Add task : Modify task : Delete task : Clear all the task

6.3 Boot Settings

Enter [System], click [Boot Settings], choose the initialized display mode on the pop-up list:

Normal 800*600, minimize, maximize, full screen.

6.4 Choosing Close

This option is the set of system's operating status when software is closed, exit program

directly or hide to the taskbar after close the interface, two mode for choosing.

6.5 User Authority

All the operating functions of the software have permission to open authority, can be

opened for different users the appropriate operating authority.

1) User management: enter [System], click [User Authority], edit the admin’s add, move,

delete and modify etc..

2) Authority Management: Select other users except “admin”, choose the access

management on the right “Authority Management”.

Notice: The user "admin" is the administrator user who has all the functional
operation authority, please modify the user information carefully, newly added user name

can not conflict with "admin".

6.6 Modify Password

3) Enter [System], click [Modify Password], enter old password and new password on

pop-up dialog, click [Confirm] to save the new password when edited.

6.7 Language Setting

Click [Language] on System area click the “Language” drop-down list in the dialog box, the

program supports loading multiple languages.

6.8 Interface Skin

Software built-in 14 kinds of skin color, click the upper right corner of the software interface

[Option], set skin color at the the drop-down menu click [Skin].

6.9 Background Running

Click [Background Running] on Main function area, the software returns the taskbar to run

in the background, click the computer taskbar software icon when need run the software

again.

6.10 Log Off System

Software will exit the system run if user click [Log Off] when operation done.

Chapter 7 Common Question and Answer(Q&A)

Possible cause:

 Main control system is not connected to the video wall

controller;

 Power supply is not on;


A:Software prompt can
Solution:
not control the screen
 Check whether the main control computer RS232 is

connected to the video wall control system. If not, please

connect;

 Set the power switch on.

Possible cause:

 Control software does not open the serial port or the

serial port is damaged;

B:Serial port operation  The serial port which turns the RS232 to USB is not

does not work, unable to installed properly;

control the video wall Solution:

controller  Check the connection status of serial port, or replace the

serial port line or master computer;

 Properly install the equipment which turn the RS232 to

USB.

Possible cause:
C:The software pops out
 The serial port is occupied, the software can not find the
