1. Introduce yourself and inform the
parent about the procedure
2. Gather the materials needed. Lay
out what you’ll need after the bath.
3. Do handwashing and set the
tub
4. Fill the tub with 2-3 inches of warm
water. Test the water temperature
first.
5. Undress the baby and wrap with a
bath towel.
6. Clean the eyes starting from inner
to outer canthus.
7. Clean the nose, ears and back of the
ears. Clean the entire face using a
washcloth.
8. Wash the baby’s head and apply
baby shampoo
9. Rinse thoroughly then pat dry the
baby with a towel
10. Hold the baby properly and wash
baby from neck to the body, then
extremities and baby’s back.
11. Pat dry the baby with a towel
12. Do the cord dressing if necessary. (If
the stump is still present)
13. Put on diaper and clothes
14. Swaddle the baby
15. Do after care
