Body Time

Learning In this class, students will use a template to design a sweater that has 40
Activity 1 information about them designed onto it. minutes

This will allow me to get to know the students better and hopefully be an
exciting project for the students to do.

A blank template will be provided to the students and the template of what
goes where will be displayed on the board. Students will be asked to draw
their designs with pencils first and then have me check them before they begin
to colour them in. They can colour it with pencil crayons, markers, or crayons
(whatever they prefer).

Here is the example

Sponge: What can students work on if done

Students will be encouraged to keep working on their hoodie for the remainder of the class. This was
originally planned as a two-day lesson so I do not think that many students will finish early. However, if they
are I will guide them to do some free drawing or do some independent reading.

Differentiation:

Students may need the template of what goes where printed out and placed beside them
Some students may need extra pieces of paper to practice their designs.

Reflection:

1. How the students responded to the lesson as planned and taught:

- The students were really excited about the project and received it well. They were quick to get to work
and they worked well!
2. Specific strengths of the lesson plan and delivery:

- I think the amount of instruction / amount of freedom was the PERFECT amount for this grade

3. Specific weaknesses in the lesson plan and delivery:

- I need to focus more on my closures. I often underestimate the amount of time that it takes to get
students ready for whats next.

4. What must be addressed to improve this plan?

- The closure of this project again must be addressed. I also had some printing issues that put a little extra
difficulty to this project. Other than that I think this was a strong lesson plan.

5. How I have grown from this teaching experience:

- I have learned more about the students through this project and what I need to plan to make a successful
project
