For the facilitator:
As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to
use this module. You also need to keep track of the learners' progress
while allowing them to manage their own learning at home.
Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as
they do the tasks included in the module.

As a learner, you must learn to become responsible of your own
learning. Take time to read, understand, and perform the different
activities in the module.
As you go through the different activities of this module be
reminded of the following:
1. Use the module with care. Do not put unnecessary mark/s on any
part of the module. Use a separate sheet of paper in answering the
exercises.
2. Don’t forget to answer Let Us Try before moving on to the other
activities.
3. Read the instructions carefully before doing each task.
4. Observe honesty and integrity in doing the tasks and checking
your answers.
5. Finish the task at hand before proceeding to the next.

Direction: By looking at the pictures. Ranking the pictures by

numbers from 1-4. 4 as the highest for perfect picture. Look for the

perfect picture.

What is Photography?

Definition of photography

: the art or process of producing images by the action of radiant

energy and especially light on a sensitive surface (such as film or

an optical sensor.)

Photography went through changes from film to digital. But

nowadays, we can just take our own selfies with the use of

smartphones. We should always be guided on how to get a perfect

shot for our photos.

Let’s check it out!

What are the principles applied in photography?

1. Colors are vital as per combination and impact of the

background.

2. Check your camera for framing. Take note of the patterns and
rhythm. Your viewer’s eye will be particular with your frames

3. Close to your object. The rule of the thirds which means the
picture should maximize the size of the frame.

style. Center your focus to get the object. Take the center of your
photo. It should be balanced.

Let Us Practice

ACTIVITY 1.

Read and apply the concepts of photography. You have two

options.

For hardware (pen and paper)

 You can always explore the magazines newspapers or any

reading materials with pictures. Try to look at what makes it

dull or unpleasing for the viewers to see or use old pictures that

are available at home

 Cut two different pictures found in old magazines or

newspapers. Paste it on any size of bond paper and Identify the

check what is missing. Again, You can use old pictures or any

cut-outs found on magazines and newspapers.

For smart phone

 Take several pictures using your smart phone and choose the

best picture. You will take a picture of a plant or a flower found

in your house. After taking a picture, write a short caption of it;

where was it taken, when was it taken and what is the name of

the flower or plant and send it to your teacher’s messenger.

Activity 2: Color it up

Materials: Smartphone with camera

Object: A tree

These are the steps you need to follow:

1. Prepare your smartphone.

2. Choose your object.

3. Take a picture and apply the techniques that was

discussed earlier.

4. Send the best photo to your teacher’s messenger.
