Last year I was selected as the school representative in an annual singing contest celebrating the 15 th
anniversary ofMesuji Regency.

I have practised singing so hard every day for almost two months before the D-day. Then, seven days before it
started, Mr. Koko, my vocal coach at school and I registered to the committee in the Regency Art Hall in
Wiralaga Mulya Village. After that, at 9 a.m., we followed the technical meeting until 4 p.m. The next day, as
usual, I continued practising at school with Mr. Koko. On the D – Day, I did the very best I could to win the
contest. And thank God, finally I became the first winner!

I have never expected that I could go this far. At the end of the day, I was very happy that my hardwork was
eventually paid off. I love singing since I was a kid. That’s why winning this contest meant so much to me.

On school holiday three years ago, my classmates and I visited Yogyakarta. We went there by bus on Saturday
at 8 p.m.. It only took us 2 hours to arrive there. Along the way, there were many beautiful scenery of huge
paddy and green vegetable fields on high hills. We really enjoyed the time and sang together in the bus.

Arriving in Yogyakarta, we stayed at a hotel booked by my teacher. After having some rest, we went out to
Borobudur Temple, the main wish-list object tourism in Yogyakarta. It was really huge. We were all admired
by its ellegance. I asked my friends to take some pictures together. At about 12.30 p.m. we had Dzuhur prayer
in a mosque nearby. After that, we had lunch together at a tarditional food stall called ‘angkringan’. Then, we
headed to the Beringharjo traditional market. There were so many beautiful traditional handicrafts. I decided to
buy some as souvenirs for my family. At about 4 p.m. we went back to the hotel to get ready to go back home.

We felt tired that day but at the same time were very happy to visit Yogyakarta, which is well-known as one of
the most beautiful cities in Indonesia. I hope we can have another holiday back there again.
