Statement Of Purpose

A desire to extend my knowledge and enthusiasm to contribute to solving the demanding educational
educational requirements in Nigeria today, motivated me to apply to the post of an assistant lecturer. I
am sure my skillset and educational background withcareer experiences has instilled in me the qualities
required to fit this position.

The choice of Covenant University is, in fact, not far-fetched. The University represents a broad
representation of the body of Christ and christlike citadel of higher learning with dedicated students
and lecturers together with a learning environment that glorifies God. I am particularly interested in
applying to the position of an assistant lecturer. I have earned a Bachelor’s degree at Osun State
University and Master's degree at University of Ibadan both in Biochemistry. As an individual who is
always ready to garner knowledge, I have assisted Doctors and Professors in carrying out researches
and in the pursuit of my purpose, I have also worked on two projects during my forth year as an
Undergraduate and in my master's degree thesis. The project were titled "Comparing the invivo and
inviteo effect of Moringa olifera extract on wister rats" and "Comparing the invivo and invitro effect of
coconut water concentrate on rat liver mitochondrial membrane permiability transition pore". Where I
led a team of 6 penultimate and 4 final year students respectively to understudy the research
procedures.

My first biggest decision which set the path for my career was my passion for teaching and discovering
new things. I have taught at different secondary schools both at junior and senior levels. My class
experiences and during my project years with students and coleagues has enhanced my student-lecturer
and lecturer-lecturer relationships.

In addition to my research experience, I have demonstrated quality leadership ability in the course of
my career, I am as well a certified basic leadership cohort from Daystar Leadership Academy.
The opportunity to be part of a God-fearing and Christ-following citadel of higher learning will avail
me more privilege to build on my spiritual being and to also move up the rung of my career in such a
reputable research environment as Covenant University greatly fascinates me, as it will allow me to
contribute significantly to learn concepts in different way, through the lens of an established culture
and give me the requisite knowledge and communication skills to ensure ideas are shared accurately. I
am confident that I possess the necessary technical skills, leadership, and other soft skills needed to
succeed as a lecturer at Covenant University.

I look forward to contributing my quota to the research and development of the reputable University.
