A GREEDY DOG
Once upon a time, there was a dog. He was very hungry. He got a piece of meat.
He reached at a stream. He saw his reflection in the water. He thought there
was another dog with a piece of meat. He wanted to get it too. He opened his
mouth, and he dropped his meat in the water. He lost his own meat.

Moral: Greed is curse.


A THIRSTY CROW
Once upon a time, there was a crow. He was very thirsty. He flew here and
there in search of water. He saw a pot in the garden. There was little water in it.
He could not drink it. He thought of a plan. He put some stones into it. The
water started to rise up. He drank the water happily and flew away.

Moral: Necessity is the mother of invention


THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
On a bright sunny day, the grasshopper was hopping and singing. He saw an ant
carrying a piece of corn. The ant advised him to store some food for the
winters. But the grasshopper was busy playing. Finally in the winter, the
grasshopper had nothing to eat.

Moral: No pain, no gain


THE UGLY TREE
Once there was an ugly tree. All other trees made fun of him. He complained to
God for making him ugly. One day, a woodcutter came to the forest. He cut all
the beautiful trees but spared the ugly tree. The ugly tree was relieved and
thanked God for making him ugly.

Moral: Appreciate what you have or are.


THE LION AND THE MOUSE
Once a lion was sleeping in a jungle. A mouse started playing on him. The lion
became angry. The mouse promised to help him next time. The lion laughed at
the mouse. One day, the lion got trapped in a net. He screamed for help and the
mouse heard him. The mouse quickly bit off the net and saved the lion. The lion
thanked the mouse, and they became best friends ever since.

Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.
