CHAPTER 1

PROJECT BACKGROUND

“Skip the Diet just Eat Healthy”

The project to develop Crispy Chichalunggay Chips was started by


Chichalog as a response to the growing demand for healthier snack
options in the Philippines. The company recognized the nutritional
benefits of malunggay and sought to incorporate it into a snack that
could be enjoyed by people of all ages. After experimenting with different
recipes, they developed a process for producing crispy, flavourful chips
that are high in fiber and other essential nutrients.

Crispy Chichalunggay Chips is a relatively new product in the


market, and there is a growing demand for healthy snack options.
Malunggay, also known as moringa, is known for its high nutritional
value and is believed to have numerous health benefits, including
boosting the immune system, promoting digestion, and reducing
inflammation.

HISTORICAL BACKGOUND
The history of chips dates back to the 1800s when the first chip
was invented. Since then, the popularity of chips has grown
exponentially, and today there are various types of chips available in the
market. In the Philippines, chips have become a popular snack food,
with a wide range of local flavours and ingredients.

Chichalog chips with malunggay is a snack food that is popular in


the Philippines. The origin of the snack can be traced back to traditional
Filipino cuisine, which includes using malunggay leaves (also known as
Moringa) in various dishes due to its health benefits. Over time, people
began to experiment with different ways to incorporate malunggay into
other foods, including chips. Today, Chichalog chips with malunggay are
widely consumed as a healthier alternative to traditional potato chips.

COMPANY BACKGOUND
As for Chichalunggay, I do not have information on a specific
company producing this product. However, there are several companies
in the Philippines that produce chips with malunggay, a superfood known
for its numerous health benefits. These companies typically source their
malunggay from local farmers and use traditional cooking methods to
produce the chips.

Crispy Chichalunggay Chips in the Philippines, and one of the


most well-known is Chichalog. The company was founded in 2014 and is
based in Quezon City, Philippines. They specialize in producing a range
of snack products made from locally sourced ingredients, including their
signature Chichalog chips with malunggay. The company's mission is to
promote healthy snacking habits and support local agriculture.

Moringa.co contains a minimal design. The main goal of the company is


to produced products that are delicious and Healthy that will satisfy
customer’s cravings. It also promote a Healthy living while satisfying
customers taste. The company Logo has a simple malunggay leaves
that is high end nutritional supplement.

PROPOSED PRODUCT NAME


Crispy Chichalunggay Chips means Chicharon Malunggay which
is related to the product Malunggay and egg Chicharon. The product has
many benefits because of it’s Malunggay ingredients. The leaves of
Malunggay are rich in minerals like calcium, potassium, zinc,
magnesium, iron and copper. Vitamins like beta-carotene of vitamin A,
vitamin B such as folic acid, pyridoxine and nicotinic acid, vitamin C, D
and E also present in M.

Crispy Chichalunggay Chips Logo helps the business to be well


known in the market and it is consider as the face of the business. This
logo is inspired by the idea and name of Crispy Chichalunggay Chips. It
consists of Malunggay and its chips. The colour brown brings the feeling
of warmth, comfort and security in the mind of customers while the green
symbolizes the nature and natural world which represents these renity,
good luck and health for every individual. In the other hand, the color
yellow creates happiness and warmth and lastly the colour orange
creates playfulness and stimulates emotions and appetites.

MISSION
To provide new, unique and delightful chips with variety of flavours
that will satisfy the customers and to offer a healthy snacks for the
individual who is conscious in their health. To ensure customer’s loyalty
as they enjoyed and feel satisfied in purchasing the product.

VISION
Moringa.co envisions of becoming the first known
chips made by different leaves manufacturer and well trusted company
in the country providing nutritious
chips for valued customer.

TYPES OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATION


Moringa.Co is a privately owned company and is classified as a
small-to-medium enterprise (SME). In the Philippines, there are several
types of business organizations, including sole proprietorships,
partnerships, corporations, and cooperatives. Moringa.Co operates as a
corporation, which means it is a separate legal entity from its owners and
has the ability to enter into contracts, own property, and incur debt. As a
corporation, Moringa.Co is subject to different regulations and tax
requirements than other types of business organizations.

The types of business organizations that could produce Crispy


Chichalunggay Chips could be a sole proprietorship, partnership, or
corporation. A sole proprietorship is owned and operated by one person,
while a partnership is owned and operated by two or more individuals. A
corporation, on the other hand, is a legal entity that is owned by
shareholders and operated by a board of directors. The type of
organization chosen would depend on the size of the business, the
number of owners involved, and the resources available.
ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE IN ESTABLISHING A
PARTNERSHIP

❖ LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY (LLC)


ADVANTAGES : limited personal liability for business debts and
obligations, flexible management structure, pass-through taxation.

DISADVANTAGE : more complex and expensive to set up and maintain


than sole proprietorships or partnerships, potential for disputes between
members.
