CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

Rationale
Mathematics is the study of topics such as quantity (numbers), structure, space, and
change. There is a range of views among mathematicians and philosophers as to the exact scope
and definition of mathematics. The research required to solve mathematical problems can take
years or even centuries of sustained inquiry. It helps us in our daily lives and doings. We may
think that math problems have no actual use in life, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth!
Math is incredibly important in our lives and, without realizing it, we use mathematical concepts,
as well as the skills we learn from doing math problems, every day. The laws of mathematics
govern everything around us, and without a good understanding of them, one can encounter
significant problems in life. Mathematics is the key to opportunity. No longer just the language
of science, mathematics now contributes in direct and fundamental ways to business, finance,
health, and defense. For students, it opens doors to careers. For citizens, it enables informed
decisions. For nations, it provides knowledge to compete in a technological community. Math is
being related to our allowance per day in a way that we can compute or control or save money. It
also teaches us how to manage our money in a day.

Allowance is the amount of money granted to students by their parents or guardians to be


used for their daily requirements and costs. An allowance is money earned or provided to a child
on a regular basis to teach them about money management. Money is extremely important in
everyone's life. It is a medium of transaction and a unit of measurement. Account and value
storage It is used to purchase necessities such as food and clothing. Money may also alleviate the
misery associated with poverty and hunger, as well as providing knowledge and even power.
Student on the other hand, learn to save their allowances as they grow and recent different
requirements in school as well as things they want to buy on their own. Budgeting is one of the
practical skills that come in useful for them. It helps them to attain a better understanding of
financial matters that would become a handful in their future.
The significance in the discovery of how much a students in Maslog National High
School spends per day would let understand what kind of lifestyle the majority has.

Statement of the problem


This study investigated the average allowance of the students in Maslog NHS during the
quarter of the school year 2019-2020. Specifically, this aimed to answer the question:
The real ideal allowance per day should students have.

CHAPTER 2
METHODOLOGY

Participants
The participants of the study are 78 randomly selected students in MASLOG NHS during the
quarter of school year 2019-2020

Data gathering Tool


The main data gathering tool is the researcher-made questionnaire of the students on how much
their allowance per day.

Data Gathering Method


The method used in this mini they’re through questionnaires the respondents will be asked to
answer honestly the questions/statements reflected in the questionnaire.

Data analysis plan


We tally the collected data and arrange it from lowest to the highest value.
Computing the mean, median, and mode.
Calculating the quartile, decile, and percentile of a grouped data.
Constructing a graph and discuss it. After calculating those fractiles interpret, discuss and answer
the formulated problem
