After watching the video that features lumad people, I am concerned about their future. The video was
about the struggle of the Lumads in Mindanao to survive. The Lumads are a group of indigenous people
of the Philippines, whose ancestral lands have been occupied by settlers and miners. They are also
known as “Laban sa Kahirapan” or “Landless People”. The video went through various stages, from the
fight for land ownership to their struggle for survival. The video showed how they were forced to leave
their homes because of those who want to take their land, how they were treated unfairly by authorities
and how they were abused by police officers when they try to protect themselves from those who want
to take their land. I found this video very meaningful especially since it shows us how important it is for
us as humans to respect each other even if we do not agree with each other on something. We should
always remember that we are all equal regardless of what race or religion we belong to because all
human beings deserve respect, dignity and protection from one another no matter what race or religion
we belong to. Also fter watching the video of lumad people, I realized that the Lumad are true to their
beliefs. It is true that they are not afraid of the fact that they are living in a place where they cannot
freely practice their religion, even though they were born there. The government should respect their
right to live peacefully and in peace with their families.
