non –living things)such us person, place or thing).

 Social function :

The social function of writing descriptive text is to describe a particular person ,place ,thing
or animal.

Structure paragraph descriptive text

Secara umum sruktur paragraph descriptive text di bagi menjadi 2 yaitu

1. Identification
Terletak pada paragraph pertama tujuannya adalah untuk menginndentifikasih atau
mempermkenalkan suatu objek yang ingin di deskripsikan.
2. Bagian ini terletak pada paragraph bagian kedua dan seterusnya berisi tentang ciri atau
sifat –sifat yang melekat pada hal yang akan kamu deskripsikan

Bongo the Orangutan

Identification: There is an orangutan in the Bandung zoo. People
call her, Bongo. She comes from a dense forest on
the island of Kalimantan.
Description: She has physical features similar to a human. Bongo
has brownish fur, and walks with two feet. Bongo is
almost as big as a human. She is a mammal that
means she gives birth to her children and breast
feed them.

 Unsur kebahasaan yang terkait

1. Menggunakan simple present tense

Menggunakan kata kerja bentuk di gunakan untuk menunjumkan fakta atau
kebenaran
Misalnya :Bongo has brownish fur; Bongo is almost as big as a human
2. Menggunakan berbagai macam kata adjective /kata sifat
Misalnya beautiful,big,long sharp,etc
3. Menggunakan kata lingking verb: kata kerja penghubung seperti (is ,am ,are
,appear,grow ,look, smell,sound and taste
Misalnya :he is handsome ;it smell nice ; the song sound is beautiful
4. Menggunakan Adverbs of emphasize
Keterangan penyangat .ini di gunakan bersama adjective (kata sifat) seperti: very,

What is the paragraph?secara umum paragraph terdiri dari 3 bagian

 Paragraph is a group of related sentence that discuses one main idea
 A paragraph can be as short as one sentence or as long as ten sentences or more
 The number of sentences is unimportant ;however ,the paragraph should be long
enough to develop the main idea clearly
Generally paragraph structure
The parts of paragraph;
1. Topic sentence :gagasan utama
2. Supporting sentence ; major support,minor support .
3. Concluding sentence
Topic sentence
The topic sentence briefly indicates what the paragraph is going to discuss.
Helpful guide , writer ,reader.
Important points to remember
1. A topic sentence is a complete sentence ;that is ,it contains at least one subject and
verb ;look the example : Communicating with colleagues,NOT a complicate sentence
2. A topic sentence contain two parts : a topic and controlling idea it names the topic
and then limits the topic to a specific area to be discussed in a space os single
paragraph
