‘The History of Drones.
Drones are flying machines with no people or pilots in them. They are controlled by someone on the ground.
Drones have existed for over one hundred years. The earliest ones were from 1917. These were practice targets for military
training. Each could only be used once.
‘About 20 yearslater, reusable drones were developed. Hundreds were made for target practice. Drones were used in World Wart
to deliver information and set off bombs. Drones became advanced during the Vietnam War. They could sense movement on the
battlefield
‘revolution began in the 1970s. Drones got smaller. Israel developed the Scout. Itwas used in the military, and its cameras sent
data. In the 1990s, people started using drones differenly. The Firebird had GPS and could see forest fires.
By 2015, anyone could buy drones. Milions were Sold. Drones today bring things to people, do search and rescue, and help
inother emergency situations. Soon drones might deliver our dinners,
