School Policies
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Complete course. Includes: 20 hours of classroom or online training / 10 hours of in car training / 10
hours of “HomeLinks.” Must be completed within 1 year of start date.* Course will not be valid after 1 year.
2. Start in-vehicle training as soon as possible and no later than 7 weeks after completing the in-class
training. In-car instructor will be assigned by driving school management by text or email 5 Business days
after online course completion.
3. Maximum of 2 hours of driving instruction per day, only.
4. Student can apply for their certification two weeks after the completion of all the online and in car
sessions. (Driving schools no longer issue paper certificates since 2008).
In order to book a road test, MTO must release certification first, unless the student has had their
G1 license for more than one year.
SCHOOL POLICIES
ONLINE TRAINING:
1. Adhere to all online code of conduct policies.
2. The use of mobile devices is strictly prohibited during online and in car sessions.
3. Must provide student/course number when requesting any information regarding student’s status in the
course.
IN-CAR LESSONS:
1. In car lessons cannot begin until a minimum of 2 in class sessions have been completed.
2. An additional $35.00/hour* fee will be charged if student misses an in-car lesson without providing 24
hour cancellation notice to the instructor.
3. In the event of winter or extreme weather conditions, an in car lesson can be cancelled at the discretion
of the in car instructor with no penalty to the student. Weather related cancellations are made at the
discretion of the instructor only.
ROAD TEST:
1. AMB Driving School operates to the best of their ability with all scheduling; at times there is no control
over the outcome of delays due to traffic conditions and road test scheduling delays.

2. Local road test included in package 2 & 3 are for road test centers located less than 22KM in distance
from the student’s pick up address to the road test center. If the student’s preferred road test center
location is more than 22KM in distance, additional charges apply.
3. If an instructor takes a student to the road test center and the road test has been cancelled after they
arrive at the test center, full charges apply for the services rendered (in car hours prior to road test and use
of car for road test charges). If a road test is cancelled by Drive Test Ontario prior to the instructor picking
up a student on the day of their road test, no charges will apply.

2. All texting/email communication with the driving school staff or instructors will be addressed within 1-2
business days.
3. AMB Driving School requests a respectful code of conduct with all instructor/staff communication via
text, email, phone and in person.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
1. All 10 hours need to be completed within 1 year from your original start date with the purchase of
Package 1, 2 & 3 in order to be certified. Package 2 (1 hour and road test) & package 3 (5 hours and road
test) can be completed up to 2 years from your start date. After 2 years from start date, course and all
services paid for are expired and will not be rendered.
2. NSF/Returned cheques have a fee of $25 per declined transaction.
REFUND POLICY:
Refund requests must be made via email to info@ambdriving.com. Refunds can only be processed up to 1
year after the start date of the course. The Course is fully non-refundable after 1 year of start date. The
total monies received will be deducted by the following costs based on services rendered:
- $100 non-refundable admin fee applies once in-class, online modules or in-car session begins
(whichever comes first)
- $75 charged per in class day or 5 hours of online modules completed (1 day or 5 hours= $75, 4 days or
20 hours= $300)
- $45 charged per hour of in car lessons completed (1 hour= $45, 5 hours $225)
- 1 hour and road test refund amount is $100
- 5 hours and road test refund amount is $165
PAYMENT POLICY:
1. Deposit paid over the phone or online = $50 towards the course fee (please note that this payment is
non-refundable).
2. Outstanding balance(s) must be paid before in-car instructor will be assigned:
• Remaining balance after the $50 deposit must be made by cheque or cash at the driving school office
on the first day of the course or via email transfer.
• Please obtain a receipt after any payment and keep ALL receipts until the completion of this course

2. Used vehicle information package. If you are S a used vehicle privately in Ontario, you must buy a used vehicle information package. The
package, which the seller must show to potentialbuyers is a D of the vehicle, its registration and lien history in Ontario, and the average wholesale
and retail values for its model and year.
3. Auto insurance-it’s the law! Ontario has C automobile insurance. This means every vehicle registered in the province must be insured. You must
insure all your vehicles for third-party liability of atleast $200,000. This covers you in the E that you injure or kill someone or damage someone’s
property.
4.Maintaining your vehicle Its is illegal to drive a vehicle in D condition. A police officer or Ministry of Transport inspector can examine your
vehicle, its equipment and any trailer attached to it, at any time. If the vehicle is found to be U it may be taken off the road until the problem is fixed.
5. Consider the consequences of impaired driving if you drink and drive and are involved in a C you may suffer serious injury to someone else.
Your insurance company might not pay for your M or rehabilitation cost, or damage to your or the other person’s vehicle.
6. Drive’s licence laws It is illegal to: L your licence, let someone else use it; use an A licence; use another licence as your own,
have more than one Ontano driver’s licence, use a fictitious or imitation licence.
7. Understanding demerit points Dement points are added to driver’s licence, if you are C of breaking certain driving laws. The rules are different
depending on if you are a new driver or have a full licence. Demerit points stay on your record for T years from the offence date.
8.Pavement markings Pavement marking combine with road signs and traffic lights to give you important information about the D of traffic and
where you may and may not travel. Yelloe lines separate traffic travelling in O directions. White lines separate traffic travelling in the same
direction. A solid line at the left of your lane means it is U to pass. A broken line at the left of your line means you pass if the way is clear.
9. Pavement markings Broken lines that are W and closer together thannn regular broken lines are called C lines. When you see
continuity lines on your left side, it generally means the lane you are in is E or exiting and that you must change lanes if you want to continue in
your current direction. Continuity lines on your right mean your lane will continue unaffected.
10.Pedestrian signals Pedestrian signals help pedestrians C at intersections with traffic lights. The signal for peestrians to walk is a white walking
symbol. A flashing or steady orange hand symbol means pedestrians must N begin to cross.
11. Warning signs These signs warn of dangerous or unusual conditions ahead such as a C turn, dip or sideroad. They are usually
diamond-shaped and have a Y background with black letters symbols.
12. Signs Traffic signs give you T information about the law, warn you about dangerous conditions and help you find your way. Signs use
different S colours and shapes for easy idetification.
13. In a collision where no one is injured Call police (provincial or local, depending on where the collision takes place). By law, you must R any
collision to the police when there are injuries or damage to vehicles or property exceeding $
14. Glare Use your low-beam headlights within metres of an oncoming vehicle or when following a vehicle within metres. On country
roads, switch to low beams when you come to a curve or hilltop so you can see oncoming headlights ad won’t B oncoming drivers.
15. Reacting to a stopped emergency vehicle or tow truck When the roadway has two or more lanes of traffic in the same direction of your travel, you are
required to M into a lane away from the emergency vehicle or tow truck, if safe to do so, in addition to R the speed of your vehicle
and proceeding with caution.
16. Parking along roadways Never: park on a curve, hill or anywhere you do not have a clear view for at least metres in both directions:park
within metres of a bridge or within metres of a public entrance to a hotel, theatre or public hall when it is open to the public.
17. Driving effiently Plan ahead. C several errands into one trip. Avoid driving during rush hours. Turn off your vehicle if parked more than
seconds. Use your vehicle’s air conditioning wisely. Keep your tires properly inflated to reduce your fuel bill, emissions and tire wear.
18. Passing After overtaking, signal that you want to move back into the lane you started from, and when you can see the entire F of the vehicle
you are passing in your inside M make the lane change. Be careful not to cut off a vehicle by suddenly moving infront of it.
19. Stopping for pedestrian crossovers Drivers including cyclists must Y the right-of-way to pedestrians in the crossover. Once people have
C entire roadway, and no other pedestrians are approching, you may proceed with caution when it is safe. You must not pass any vehicle within
metres of a pedestrian crossover.
20. Turn on headkights at night When driving your vehicle, headlights are required to be turned on between O hour before suset and one-half hour
after surise, and any other time of P light conditions, such as fog, snow or rain, which keeps you from clearly seeing people or vehicles less than
metres away.
