Give Peace A Chance

The song that I chose is Give Peace A Chance by John Lennon. Not only did this

song impact me growing up but it impacted thousands at the time it was written. The

song is about the Vietnam war and how everyone should give peace a chance but I feel

that this song does not only apply to Vietnam. In my opinion it has to do with violence in

general or you could even apply it to the war in Ukraine. In the song Lennon basically

sings about everything everyone is carrying about in the world but he's basically saying

that none of that matters and everyone should stop fighting about that stuff and give

peace a chance. Lennon actually wrote this song with his wife Yoko Ono at what they

called a bed-in which funny enough it was everyone protesting the vietnam war by

laying in bed all day. In 1969 this was a huge deal because John Lennon was a famous

celebrity who was against the war and he kind of led a movement during the war and

the reason this song is important to me is because it's just a super nostalgic song and I

remember listening to it in the car with my mom when I was little.
