Weather is the condition of the atmosphere
in a particular place at a particular time. It
affects your day-by-day activities and
determines what activities you will do for the
next day. Weather changes from time to
time.
Weather patterns is a repeating weather
condition over a period of time.
ELEMENTS OF WEATHER
Changes in humidity, cloudiness, air
temperature, and air and wind pressure can
cause a change in the weather.
1. Temperature- is the hotness or
coldness of the air around us. It varies
according to the elevation, location of
the place, and time of the day. The
higher the elevation the lower the
temperature.
2. Humidity- is the measure of moisture
present in the air. When the
temperature of the atmosphere is
high, the water in the earth’s surface
evaporates rapidly. The amount of
water vapor in the air contributes to
the change of weather. High water
vapor in the air means precipitation
could occur.
3. Precipitation- is any form of moisture
including rain, drizzle, snow, freezing
rain, hail and ice pellets that fall on
the ground. Precipitations usually
forms when clouds reach the
thickness of more than 1 kilometer.
4. Wind- is a moving air. It is caused by
the unequal heating of earth’s
surface.
5. Air pressure- is the amount of force
exerted by air on earth’s surface.
WET SEASON
Wet season is characterized by rainy
season with thunderstorm and starts
in June and peaks in July to
September.
Daytime temperatures range from 30
to 36 degree Celsius and during
nighttime the temperature ranges
from 21 to 28 degree Celsius.
The air is hot and humid, brings heavy
rains and typhoons in the country.
Rainfall is relatively high, but regional
contrast is remarkable depending on
the size and position of the land,
location of the mountain ranges, and
direction of moisture- bearing wind.
Precipitation is highest in the area
where the southwest monsoon
strikes. During rainy season, it is
advisable to an umbrella, especially in
the late afternoon. It is also during
rainy season that the farmers are able
to plant crops.
DRY SEASON
It is characterized by hot and
cloudless day
Between January and May, the
climate is generally dry.
The peak of dry season is in April with
less rain showers. The dry season is
influenced by seasonal wind and the
northeast monsoon, the Amihan.
Northeast breeze from Siberia and
northern China is cool dry, which
brings prolonged periods of
successive cloudless days.
The temperature at daytime ranges
from 25 to 32 degree Celsius and 22
degree Celsius at night time.
It is advisable to wear light colored
and cotton clothes during warm days
to be comfortable. During summer
months, some people go on a
vacation. It is also the time for some
people to dry their crops and other
goods.
