Event 5 - Major Project

TASK/5 Overview
The Major construction project will form the final assessment for this course.
You are required to undertake a basic construction project that contributes
value to the school site. You are to plan, cost, construct, deliver and install a
project of reasonable size that utilises a variety of construction skills, tools,
material and equipment. The project should reflect a realistic group based
project and allow you to demonstrate knowledge of construction process in
a realistic work environment.

Theory Tasks to be completed

• Produce a site plan for the project

• Project costings
• Complete a Safe Work Method Statement for the project which
includes: Identify and describe the construction project; Identify the
relevant industry standards associated for the project

• Complete a Quality Control Plan for the project

• Complete a Communication & Waste management plan for the

project

• Complete a Gantt chart for the project, working within the expected
delivery time which includes a complete a Job Sequence for the
project

• Collect and build a register of relevant MSDS' for the project and
from previous projects

• Complete a work diary including milestones and toolbox talk general
