1. If there are 10 chickens and eight rabbits in a cage how many legs are there in a cage all
together?
● 10 chicken (each chicken has a 2 legs)
8 rabbits (each rabbit has a 4 legs)

10 (2) = 20
8 (4) = 32
20 + 32 = 52

2. Mr. Dela Cruz bought 15 pears at P18.00 each and 25 oranges at P15.00 each. He sold each
pear for P25.00 and each orange for P20.00. What is the profit he would make by selling all
pears and oranges?
● 15 pears ₱ 18.00 each
25 oranges ₱ 15.00 each

25 - 18 = 7 25 - 20 = 5

15 (7) = 105 25 (5) = 125

125 + 105 = 230

4. A purse contained 22 coins consisting of 25 centavos and one peso. If their total value is
P10.75, how many coins of each kind were there?

There are seven one peso coins and twelve 25 centavos
12 + 7 = 22
5. The length of a rectangle is 9 cm more than its width. The area of the rectangle
is 136 cm. What are its dimensions?
● Length 9
Area 136

Length of rectangle is 9 cm there are two length of rectangle the top and the bottom.
9 + 9 = 18
136 - 18 = 118
118/2 = 59
Therefore the width of the rectangle is 59 inches
