This reflection discusses the importance of providing feedback to students. It notes that feedback serves as the foundation for students to improve their academic performance by identifying their strengths and areas for growth. The teacher must have criteria or rubrics to avoid bias when giving feedback, and should provide feedback both during and after a student performance. Feedback should include both positive and negative comments to inform students on how to avoid mistakes and improve. It also stresses the value of communication between teachers and parents regarding a student's performance and progress.

This lecture taught me the value of communication and feedback
not just to students but also to parents. As a teacher, you must know how to provide proper feedback to your students since it serves as the foundation for students to enhance their academic performance and identify areas for growth, which is why you must think critically while delivering feedback. However, in order to avoid bias, the teacher must have a basis for giving feedback, which we call criteria or rubrics, and it must inform the students during and after the performance in order for students to avoid mistakes, as well as giving feedback right after the performance to give the students insights into what they need to improve. Furthermore, when it comes to feedback, we must provide both good and negative comments.
Additionally, as a teacher its important to make recommendations
or ideas on how students might enhance their performance in a positive way. But, it is good to understand how important the portfolio is to students since it is always having a learning targets because it is a purpose of portfolio since it is a purposeful means of assessing and evaluate the students such aid them to what areas they need to develop. As the teacher provides feedback, it is based on the information collected and organized in a portfolio. If there is excellent documentation, it is simple to see if the students improve or not, and it is beneficial to allow the students time to reflect on themselves since in portfolio there is always reflection, and it is also good to encourage students to grow and advance in many areas. This is one of the strategies that a teacher may use to provide feedback to students.
To summarize, providing feedback to students is critical in
informing them of where they need to develop. As a teacher, it is preferable to provide feedback to students in a way that does not cause them pain in order for them to improve. This is why you should practice strategies such as providing positive feedback before negative feedback because they are learners who need to learn more and progress in order for them to not be afraid that they can improve no matter what happens. Also I realize on this topic, I see the need of communication between teachers and parents in informing them about their children.
