The document discusses product-oriented assessment and portfolio assessment. Product-oriented assessment focuses on evaluating student outcomes and determines if students met course objectives by assessing student performance. Portfolio assessment allows students to determine their progression through a course by adding reflections, activities, and work to their portfolio. The portfolio contains evidence of student learning and competencies. Both assessment types are beneficial for students to self-evaluate based on their work and for teachers to determine if students achieved learning objectives or skills.

Our group discussed about Product Oriented Assessment and
Portfolio Assessment. When we say product oriented assessment, we mean that it focuses on evaluating the outcomes or output of a process or after a teaching learning process. It also helps the teacher determine whether or not the student met the objectives of the course because this type of assessment is assessed through the performance of a learner and that's what we consider "Product." The learners are able to perform or demonstrate the work or project that they've done and it's called learning competencies based on their performance level We have: Level 1 Beginner, Level 2 Skilled, and Level 3 Expert, so the learner's grade is based on the product that they have completed. We also have tools that we can use to evaluate the performance of the product rubrics and criteria. Always remember that there is always a purpose in every assessment.
Portfolio assessment is a purposeful assessment in which the
student determines their progression as they proceed through the course. While relying as a teacher, they may analyze and evaluate the student's learning since it provides supporting evidence and proof where the students add their themes based on their own words, reflections, activities, and work inside the course. The portfolio is important because students can determine why the subject is important to them, and the portfolio contains all of the important knowledge and learning competencies that a learner needs to learn because they can know what topic or lecture they need to improve and develop, and if they meet the objectives. The instructor may also quickly identify whether or not the student is learning since they can examine the portfolio to see if the contents are excellent or unsatisfactory.
To summarize, product-oriented and portfolio assessments are
extremely beneficial to both students and instructors since they allow students to evaluate themselves based on the product. It is critical for teachers to determine whether or not students meet the objectives or learning skills since that is the purpose of assessment, if the learner does not meet the objectives, it will reflect on the student's grade, so there will be no cheating on the grade because the learner's works and content serve as evidence or proof in the portfolio and are based on the product or performance that the student has done.
