RSHS tappers fail
to reach final
In Sepak Takraw

BY PRINCE JOHN FER L. PARAGGUA

Fate seemed to have turned back to RSHS
tappers when they failed to capitalize their
offense-defense combo and succumbed to
School of Saint Matthias (SSM) headers, 2-
1, in game 4 of Sepak Takraw during the
2013 Interhigh Meet at Tumauini Sports
Complex, Tumauini, Isabela, September 15.
RSHS salvaged regu 1 as the trio of Irish
Gumaru, Kim Balisi and Jheromie
Crisostomo marred SSM with their quick
headings and sneaky placings, staging a
dominance 9-21, 18-21.
SSM headers roared for an offensive as
they avenged quick kills and put a halt
in regu 2, 21-18, 20-21, 21-15, through
Enril Castro’s head spikes and Mark
Alberto’s dink shots.
With the momentum on their side, SSM
playmakers Noel Caliguiran and Alex
Tamang gave everything they’ve got to
block RSHS in advancing to the finals as
they crushed their foes with a head
spike combo icing regu 3, 2-0.
Castro said that apart from finding
rhythm in midgame, their victory is
also credited to their rigid training
prior to their face-to-face matchup
with the RSHS headers.
SSM headers will advance to the
final match and they are now
preparing to wreck TNHS
stronghold to the champ crown.
