INTRODUCTION

A nursing student of Angeles University Foundation was murdered. In September 03,

2009 the body of nursing student has found in her dormitory in Angeles, Pampanga. Is it robbery?

Crime of passion or rape? What was the motive behind the crime? Was the boyfriend really involved?

Then after a year a witness appeared said he was there in the crime scene.

INITIAL REPORT OF THE CRIME COMMITED

CHIEF OF ANGELES CITY POLICE OFFICE REPORT: PSUPT EDEN UGALE

Keith Ballesteros is a 16 yrs. old nursing student of Angeles University Foundation. Who

live in Arayat, Pampanga who decided to rent a dorm near on her school that is approved by her

parents because it will take almost one hour before she can make it to go in her school. Keith is the

eldest daughter of her parents. She is a kind daughter that focuses more on her study who always

want to stay home always after her class and don’t usually go out if she will not buy foods or needed

to go school to study. September 03, 2009 was the exam day of Keith so she decided to go home

early at 2pm. Past 4pm her cousin Mary Luz Flores go home from her school and found Keith lying on

the floor inside their bath room with full of blood on her body.
INFORMATION GATHERED

After that Mary Luz Flores panicked for how many minutes because she was totally shocked

of what happened to her cousin later on she asked helped to the son of the dorm’s owner known as

Allan Joy Cueco that make Mary Luz confused on Allan Joy response because he didn’t quickly react

or as if he doesn’t care about what happened to Keith. Mary Luz think that Allan Joy might be the one

who did that act to Keith. Then they asked for help to the Barangay Official sooner the Police Officers

came after investigating they found hair strand that can be used as evidence and compare the hair of

the suspect. They compare it first to Allan Joy but didn’t match and Allan Joy said he was in the

computer shop that time when that incident happened and to prove his statement this person named

Jeremiah Estacio state to the Police that he was with Allan Joy in the computer shop from 11am to

4pm that made Allan Joy release from the Police as first suspect according to Mary Luz cousin of

Keith. Added information other names we’re involved named as Michael Laxa and Anthony Austria

who were also said as a student of Angeles University Foundation. Michael Laxa has a record on that

school proof that he’s really a student there while Anthony Austria doesn’t have a record. These two

men was becoming the suspect because of investigation of the Police officers they believed that they

were on inside Keith’s dorm during that time of incident. The proof and evidence wasn’t enough and

the Police officers looks like blinded and doesn’t give their full effort to look for the suspects.
INTERVIEW/INTERROGATION

First Suspicious Suspect, Allan Joy Cueco stated that he wasn’t there, he was on the computer shop

and it’ a coincidence where Mary Luz asking for help then he just arrive on the dorm after he came

from the computer shop. Jeremiah Estacio stated that he was with Allan Joy that time in the computer

shop from 11pm to 4pm and became the person who make Allan Joy innocent.

Second Suspect, Michael Laxa stated that he wasn’t also their said he was going home to Manila that

time.

Third Suspect, Anthony Austria never been found by the Police Officers so not a single statement

was given by him.

After a year, Same day and month were Keith was brutally killed by unknown suspect.

September 03, 2010. This peson Edward Macatangay go to the Police Station of Angeles City Police

Office and became the first witness on the case.

 Edward Macatangay stated he was there in that place were the incident happened to Keith

Ballesteros. He said Anthony Austria is talking to someone on phone angrily then invited him together

with Michael Laxa to go to Keith’s dorm. Then when they reach the dorm Keith is the one who opened

the door for Anthony to go inside with Michael and Edward but Edward stay outside drinking soft

drinks admit he became as if like the look out when time passed he saw Michael and Anthony rushing

to go for a ride on a motorcycle then decided to go inside to know what they acted like that but then

Edward was shocked and panicked on what he saw. He saw Keith lying on the floor after he opened

the door of Keith’s Dorm.

 Edward Macatangay statement wasn’t believable and acceptable for the Police Officer

because on the Crime Sketch, Keith was found inside their bath room wherein is not on the same way

where Edward said after he opened the door of the dorm apartment. Door of the bath room can be

just found after you reach the living room then you need to turn right so you can open the another

door for the bath room. Edward became also the suspect because of he’s unbelievable statement.

When they need him again on the Police Station he didn’t show up anymore and said Anthony

threatened him if he will talk about what happened that time to the victim Keith Ballesteros.

1 AS WHAT YOU CAN SEE THERE WAS ANOTHER DOOR FOR THE BATH
ROOM, SO HOW CAN EDWARD MACATANGAY SEEN KEITH
IMMEDIATELY?
 2 POLICE SAID KEITH WAS STAB BY THE SUSPECT USING FORK AND
BREAD KNIFE, REASON SHE WAS COVERED WILL FULL OF BLOOD ON
HER CLOTHES.

3 POLICE SAID KEITH DIDN’T DIE BECAUSE OF THE STABS SHE GOT
BUT BECAUSE THE SUSPECT DROWN KEITH ON A WATER BUCKET
INSIDE THEIR BATHROOM, REASON THEY HAD FOUND STRAND
THAT CAN BE OWN BY KEITH OR THE SUSPECT.

CONCLUSION

This case of Keith Ballesteros wasn’t solved up until now. Considered this as like our

hypothesis in this case, on what comes inside our mind after studying this case and share our side on

what is something missing or action that should be done so that this case was have been resolved

before and this is not happening to Keith like the justice is elusive to her and not served totally. The

Police Officer maybe he gave his effort but not his full effort because Edward Macatangay can really

tell the truth maybe at first his trying to cover herself if ever he did the crime, doing alibi and saying
unbelievable statement and even thought he was threated to Anthony Austria, he should come to the

Police Station if they still need to talk to him. In the video they didn’t ever make a blotter for Michael,

Anthony and Edward or whoever their suspect is so that if someone sees them they can immediately

report or call it to the Police Station. The clear thing only is that she was murdered inside their bath

room’s not caused by stab but because the suspect drowns her. They didn’t test Keith’s body if either

the suspect might rape her first before stabbing and drowning Keith maybe Keith fought back reason

the suspect was more triggered to kill Keith.

Therefore, we conclude Keith Balleteros murdered case is not really solved because no one has

been arrested by doing that heinous crime to Keith. They should put more time and shouldn’t stop not

until they will serve the justice for Keith Ballesteros.
