Registered Nurse 3- Neuro Trauma Surgical ICU July 2019 - Present
Focusing on neurological injuries as well as a range of trauma injuries on an 18-bed department. Conducting
comprehensive assessments involving complex critical thinking. Monitoring and administering medications
and care to provide life support. Collaborating with other medical professionals to provide exceptional care
to patients and families. Specialized in specific medications such as tPA or TNK care for stroke responses,
Cleviprex, sedation medications, paralytics, vasopressors, and various other medications requiring close
monitoring and titration. Handles specialized patient care equipment such as arterial lines, external
ventricular drains, epidurals, PCA’s, TR bands, and intercranial pressure monitoring systems. As charge
nurse, I provide staff guidance, handle challenging situations, create assignments, and provide additional
assistance as needed for up to 10 nurses at one time while fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and
improvement of measures. Serve as a preceptor for new graduates or new employees.

Assisted the nurse, completed vital signs, assisted patients with basic hygiene, blood glucose testing,
removing IV’s, starting, and removing foley catheters, as well as assisting in transfers and discharges.
Working throughout each unit of Moses Cone Hospital.
Investigates all deaths that are due to injury, violence, disasters, natural deaths that are suspicious, unusual,
or unattended by a medical professional. Completing body diagrams, create death certificates, authorize
cremations, collect toxicology, and complete a report of the medical examiner.
