Angels
WHAT ARE ANGELS?

Creation of Allah
Called Malaika (plural form) in Arabic; means to give help or assistance.
Singular form is called Malak; means messenger or helper.
Created from light/ noor.
No specific body shape.
Have wings.
Belong to the category of unseen.
THE JOB OF ANGELS

Obey Allah’s command and orders.


Have no free choice.
Worship Allah.
They are not deities or Allah’s daughters.
Have no knowledge except what Allah tells them.
Do not descend on earth until ordered by Allah.
Perform Hajj around Bait-ul-Maimur (Frequented House).
LET’S KNOW ABOUT BAIT-UL-MAIMUR

Angels perform their hajj around Bait-ul-Maimur.


Also known as The Frequented House.
Bait-ul- Maimur is located right above our Kaabah (in Makkah) in the seventh heaven.
Allah’s throne is right above Bait-ul-Maimur.
Mentioned in Surah Tur in the Holy Quran.
70,000 angels visit Bait-ul-Maimur every day/ they never return.
COMPARISON WITH HUMANS

Allah’s commands.

PROMINENT ANGELS AND THEIR JOBS

1. Angel Jibraeel:
The chief of all angels. Brought revelations to prophets. The messenger of Allah.
2. Angel Israfeel:
Will blow the trumpet on the Day of Judgement.
3. Angel Mikaeel:
Incharge of looking after the universe, movement of the stars, planets etc. responsible for
bringing rain.
4. Munkar and Nakeer:
Will question the dead in grave.
PROMINENT ANGELS AND THEIR JOBS

5. Angel Izraeel:
Angel of death. Incharge of taking people’s souls on Allah’s command.
6. Angel Malik:
Guardian of Hell.
7. Angel Rizwan:
Guardian of Heaven.
8. The Respected Recorders:
Hadith says every human is born with two angels who record our deeds.
