Reflection Paper on EDSA People Power Revolution

People Power Revolution, also known as EDSA Revolution or the February

Revolution is a very historic event in the Philippine history. These events bring up the
voice of the people against the government. The rights of the people through
revolutionary people headed by the different individuals who wants to take down the
administration of the former President Marcos. The rise up of the different people
working together in order to take back their rights that have been said neglected.
How can we really know the really happened in the past? Past is a core memory.
Past events happening can be really know through the books, journals, news prints
archives, and the people itself experiences the events in the past. This supporting
details in the books must came from the reliable sources which came from the person
involve in that past. This people are interview with their consent and with the purpose of
making it as a reminder to the people throughout different generations. Books, journals,
news prints archives, and the people interviews are linkage to demonstrate the true
happenings in that certain events. However, there are certain people who sticks to their
beliefs and believe the information only on one side. It would be best to read and watch
different source in order for us to digest the information and make an outline and
through this we can puzzle the happenings and see whose information are accurate.
Media is a significant member of the community. Its purpose is to voice out the
truth and the happenings unto the community where it belongs. Media expression
should be regulated. It should be regulated on the positive side. There are certain times
when the medias are critically affected the opinions of the people for the reason of
bringing bias information and making the positive to negative. Media are business. It
serves money. Sometimes, their purpose becomes the purely business. They make up
the truth into lies which is reality.
Media often times brings chaos to the surroundings. There are different social
media platform which is also sometimes became the war field of the various people
having different opinion on the issues. Though we have the freedom of expression to
state our opinions. Media should be regulated to ensure the reliable stories of the
various issues running in the community. Also, it should be the government who should
regulate the media because of the authorization it has to govern the people given its
power.
In the EDSA Revolution, the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr is one of the most
memorable person that bring us to make a voice of the people. His statement is “The
Filipino is Worth Dying for”. We all know that he die through the assassination which is
still unknown who is behind it. Is it really worth to die for? For me, it isn’t worth it. If he
would still alive and well, he would do so much change for the country. The Filipinos are
not worth dying for. Filipinos for me is deeply engraved on just doing the rights thing and
fighting it with some people already risk their life.
