Introduction
Human beings use sexual strategies in search of long-term and short-term mating. By
focusing on a study, this review will discuss the reasons individuals pursue sexual strategies
Method
The experiment was conducted in two exercises. The first execise was conducted to
achieve chloroplast enrichment while the second one measured the chloroplast’s relative
redox activity. The first exercise was conducted as follows; Three spinach leaves were
obtained and all the large central stalks and veins were removed to ensure there was no
difficulty in grinding. After this was done, the spinach leaves were placed in a mortar. Using
a pipette, 10ml of cold chloroplast isolation buffer was measured and added to the spinach in
the mortar. The leaves and chloroplast isolation buffer mixture was then ground into a paste.
An additional 10ml of cold chloroplast isolation buffer was measured using a pipette and
added to the paste in the mortar. After the buffer was added in the mortar, the mixture was
Men pursue short-term sex strategies to identify women who are sexually accessible,
reduce the risk, cost, and commitment, and identify fertile women. Women use them to assess
the possibility of potential mates being long-term mating partners and to evaluate the gene
quality of their men. Long-term sex strategies are pursued by men to identify women they can
commit to, have high female reproductive value, and have good maternal instincts and skills.
Women employ them to identify men who can physically protect them, are willing to commit
and invest in them, and can offer good parenting to their offspring.

Costs associated with using sex strategies include the risk of contracting sexually
transmitted diseases through sexual contact with multiple partners, the risk of acquiring
negative social reputations, opportunity costs, and wastage of energy, time, and resources
(Buss, & Schmitt, 2016). Benefits include identifying high-quality mates, securing high-
quality genes for offspring, and identifying good parents for one’s offspring.
Conclusion
Mating in the current era is complex. Individuals need to understand the sex strategies
theory to secure the best possible mates. A lack of knowledge of sex strategies may cause
