1 Scope
This Material Specification defines the requirements of a finishing paint used for the passenger protection in
antislip emergency exit for aerospace application.
Unless otherwise specified by the drawing, the order or the inspection schedule, the present specification
shall be used in conjunction with the referenced documents.
2 Application
This antislip paint is intended to be used on external surfaces of the aircraft where slip resistant walk way is
required eg. upper surface of the wing below an emergency exit.

4 Requirements
4.1 General
Specification values are minimum except where stated.
4.2 Specific
The physical and chemical properties of the individual components, the physical properties of liquid paints
before application and the dry film properties are defined in tables 1, 2 and 3.
The material shall meet the requirements of this specification when applied in accordance with 4.2.2.
Release tests shall be in accordance with Table B of AIMS 04-04-000 except those, which are not required
for the qualification.
4.2.2 Sampling
The sampling of of paints and varnishes in liquid and paste form shall be done according to the technical
specification AIMS 04-04-000.
Unless otherwise specified, a basic primer in accordance with AIMS 04-04-001 shall be applied on anodised
specimens.
Unless otherwise specified, the antislip paint shall be applied on specimens previously covered by the
external paint system in accordance with AIMS 04-04-013 or AIMS 04-04-031, except to the following tests
(adhesion, scratch resistance, flexibility, resistance to water and resistance to humidity) on which the antislip
paint shall be applied on both the above external paint system and the primer according to AIMS 04-04-013
or AIMS 04-04-031.
Furthermore, for the compatibility test with external paint systems, the antislip paint shall be applied on
specimens previously covered by the all other external paint system in accordance with AIMS 04-04-013 or
AIMS 04-04-031 whereas for the compatibility test with the primers, the antislip paint shall be applied on
specimens previously covered by all other primer according to AIMS 04-04-013 or AIMS 04-04-031.
For military applications the antislip paint shall be applied on specimens previously covered by the external
paint system in accordance with AIMS 04-04-036 or AIMS 04-04-060 or AIMS 04-04-061. For tests like
adhesion scratch resistance, resistance to water and resistance to humidity, antislip paint shall be applied on
top of both external paint system and primer according to AIMS 04-04-036 or AIMS 04-04-060 or AIMS 04-
04-061. Antislip paint has to be applied on both primer and external paint systems for compatibility tests.
