3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: • Aircraft serial numbers 920017 and 920019 require immersion sensor
replacement at station 211.00 only.
• Slight variations to this instruction herein are allowed, as long as the intent of
this modification is accomplished.
(3) Remove applicable equipment/furnishings and kick plate at station 221.00 left buttline
left buttline 14.30 to gain access to immersion sensor per applicable maintenance
manual.
(4) Disconnect connector from immersion sensor cable to immersion sensor (Figure 1,
location A).
(5) Examine, clean and treat electrical connectors for corrosion with corrosion preventive
compound (MIL-C-81309 or equivalent) and place protective cap (NAS847) over end
of connector.
(7) Remove sensor (92250-12083-101) from helicopter and return to H.S.I. for upgrade to
92250-12083-102.
(a) Clean mating surfaces of removed immersion sensor area and bulkhead with
clean, nonwoven cleaning cloth (CCC-C-46) and degreasing solvent (MIL-PRF-680
or equivalent).
(b) Dry surfaces with clean, dry nonwoven cloth before solvent evaporates.
(9) Install immersion sensor (92250-12083-102) at station 211.00 left buttline 14.30 wet
with primer (MIL-P-85582) using six screws (SS5300C1-10 or MS27039C1-10) and
six washers (NAS1149C0332R). Entirely coat all surfaces of washers.
(11) Perform bonding check between immersion sensor (point x) and airframe (point y)
using milliohm meter (R1L-E1 or equivalent). Resistance shall be 10 milliohms or
less.
NOTE: Failure of bonding check will require sensor to be removed and area to be
recleaned using step 8 (a) and (b).
(13) Apply a fillet of sealant (AMS 3265 or equivalent) around complete periphery of
sensor flange and overcoat nutplates at base of immersion sensor (92250-12083-
102).
NOTE: Make certain electrical connections have been cleaned and treated for
corrosion. If no corrosion protection is present, apply before connection is
made.
(14) Remove protective cap(s) (NAS847) from connectors and reconnect immersion sensor
cable to immersion sensor (92250-12083-102).
(15) Examine immersion sensor (92250-12083-102) for security and check surrounding
area for foreign objects and cleanliness.
(16) Perform an operational check of the sensor (92250-12083-102) using the IMRS/OFF/
INERTIA switch on the CVR/FDR test panel per applicable Roto Flight Manual
(RFM). Test procedure is located in Part 2, Section 1-Options in RFM001, -003,
-004, -005, and -006. It is located in Part 2, Chapter 18, Section 1-Options in
RFM002.
NOTE: • To gain access to immersion sensor(s) at station 425.00 right and left buttline
50.83, landing gear must be in the extended (down) position.
• Slight variations to this instruction herein are allowed, as long as the intent of
this modification is accomplished.
(1) Disconnect connector from immersion sensor cable to immersion sensor at station
425.00 right and left buttline 50.83 and station 220.00, left buttline 14.30 (Figure 1,
location A).
(2) Examine, clean and treat electrical connectors for corrosion with corrosion preventive
compound (MIL-C-81309 or equivalent) and place protective cap (NAS847) over end
of connector.
(4) Remove sensors (92250-12083-101) from helicopter and return to H.S.I. for upgrade
to 92250-12083-102.
(6) Install immersion sensor (92250-12083-102) at station 425.00 right and left buttline
50.83 wet with primer (MIL-P-85582) using six washers (NAS1149C0332R) and six
screws (SS5300C1-10 or MS27039C1-10). Entirely coat all surfaces of washers.
(8) Perform bonding check between immersion sensor (point x) and airframe (point y)
using milliohm meter (R1L-E1 or equivalent). Resistance shall be 10 milliohms or
less.
NOTE: Failure of bonding check will require sensor to be removed and area to be
recleaned using step 8 (a) and (b).
(10) Apply a fillet of sealant (AMS 3265 or equivalent) around complete periphery of
sensor flange and overcoat nutplates at base of immersion sensor (92250-12083-
102).
NOTE: Make certain electrical connections have been cleaned and treated for
corrosion. If no corrosion protection is present, apply before connection is
made.
(11) Remove protective cap(s) (NAS847) from connectors and reconnect immersion sensor
cable to immersion sensor (92250-12083-102).
(12) Examine immersion sensor (92250-12083-102) for security and check surrounding
area for foreign objects and cleanliness.
(13) Perform an operational check of both sensors (92250-12083-102) using the flotation
system test procedure per applicable Rotocraft Flight Manual (RFM). Test procedure
is located in Part 2, Section 1-Options for all revisions except RFM002. In RFM002 it
