    ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
    Through the division memorandum number 35 series of 2021 titled
    “Bridging Learning Through a Five Week Curriculum Innovation for Grades 1 to 3
    on Aug. 16, 17 & 18, 2021, Teachers had three days of virtual training in various
    subjects including MTB-MLE teachers from August 16 to August 18, 2021 for
    grade 1 to grade 3 teachers. The seminar-workshop aims to enhance teachers
    skills in teaching the most essential learning competencies, equip teachers with
    the necessary skills in teaching in the new normal education, create/produce
    Supplementary Learning Materials/ Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) based on
    identified least learned skills for Grades 1-3 learners.

    Day 01 (August 16, 2021)


    REGISTRATION
    The participants were asked to register on a google form per subject
    area/grade level.

    ENHANCEMENT TRAINING ON CONTENT FOR GRADES 1- 3


    TEACHERS
    PROJECT OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVES
    Ma’am Celia Lacanlale, CIDG Chief, discussed the project overview and
    objectives. Based on gathered data, there is an alarming increased in the
    number of learners not meeting grade level expectations; large number of non-
    readers and frustration level learners; poor retention of learning because of lack
    of face-to-face instruction; and limited assistance provided by teachers and
    learning facilitators to improve mastery of MELCs.

    Ma’am Lacanlale explained that through this webinar-workshop it will


    ccapacitates teachers in producing learning activity sheets as intervention
    materials to address the learning gaps for learners not meeting grade level
    expectations; and it will serve as an instructional material innovation geared
    towards providing resources for teachers in assisting struggling learners through
    contextualized learning activity sheets.

    CRAFTING LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEETS (LAS)


    Ma’am Mary Anne Samson discussed how to craft a learning activity
    sheet, by enumerating the qualities of a good learning activity sheet to the details
    in making a learning activity sheets.
    Likewise, Ma’am Ann mentioned that a learning activity sheet is a self-
    directed instructional materials for use by learners in the new normal education.
    It can provide a set of learning exercises/activities responding to the Most
    Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) needed in a particular subject when
    face-to-face modality of learning is not possible.

    UNPACKING MELCS
    Ma’am Cherry Vinluan explained how important for a teacher to unpack
    the MELCs to make the standard a student-friendly learning objectives. The
    steps in unpacking MELCs are as follows:
    1. Identify the concepts, knowledge, and skills.
    2. Identify the content complexity.
    3. Create student-friendly learning competency.
    4. Identify the evidence of learning.
    As Ann Parker has put it: “Effective teachers don’t cover the curriculum. They
    uncover it.”

    Day 02 (August 17, 2021)


    Break out session per subject area and grade level was held to discuss the least
    learned skill as well as distribution of topics to the designated writers. The writers
    were given the afternoon until the morning of the next day to write their LAS.

    Day 03 (August 18, 2021)


    A plenary was held in the afternoon. A representative for each grade level was
    chosen to present their output for the body to give comments and
    recommendation.
