Prompt:

1. What are the names of the four different associate degrees offered at HCCC?
2. What major or certificate program are you planning to study at HCCC?
3. If you are pursuing a degree, what associate's degree does your major fall?
4. What are your career interests, and are you planning to transfer to a senior college or go
directly into the workforce?

Within the HCCC community, students can choose between 4 different Associate’s Degree programs:
an Associate’s degree in the Arts, an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences, an Associate’s Degree in
Fine Arts, and an Associate’s Degree in Science. As a first-year student at High Tech High School and a
member of the D|Fab academy, my only viable option, under the Early College program at my school, is
to pursue a general Associate’s Degree in Science or participate in a certificate program for Supply Chain
Management. If I were to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Science with Hudson County Community
College, my plan of specializing in Computer Science in high school suggests that I would have to pursue
an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration under the Division of Business, Culinary Arts, and
Hospitality Management, as skills learned in my preferred Computer Science major would be most
useful and applicable in Business Administration.

As insinuated earlier, I am captivated by the idea of working with the latest technologies and playing a
crucial role in the development of such devices, and therefore, I am inclined toward becoming a
developer/coder and a Data Analyst. Since middle school, mathematics and the study of logic have
always captivated my largely analytical mind, as it further allows me to break down and process
information in a personalized manner. To prepare myself for a career in the technology sector, I have
dabbled with and written basic programs in Python and JavaScript, one of the two most popular
programming languages for web-based applications. Consequently, I have the ambition to pursue a joint
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Mathematics at a 4-year university and then earn my Master’s
Degree in the same fields in order to further contribute to the plethora of innovation in the tech
industry.
