It is enriching the k thru 12 curriculums and expanding youths skill sets, interests and career opportunities. Local Colleges and local governments are becoming important partners in expanding opportunities for residents across age, income, and life challenged profiles. Finally, Urban agriculture has important community cohesion and violence prevention benefits. Learning in the field also includes how environmental and energy issues can be applies to the same uses. how eating fresh food can be used to restore your health, addressing diabetes, high blood pressure, colds, obesity and many other maladies. where food and "green" jobs and job training are for everyone regardless of age, education or life challenges; how to create your own local jobs- in your own food entrepreneurial business how school based gardens, environmental education, and curriculums can positively transform our broken Chicago area-neighborhood and charter schools; how community based gardens /urban ag. can connect and change neighborhoods into places of stability, safety, well being and true community; about the connection between gardening and mental, spiritual health.

self employed business people and learn how you can start and run your own business Chicago children and teen who have learned to grown and cook food, love it and prosper from it retirees, church groups, block clubs, teachers, large and small farmers who are doing it now, right in your neighborhoods local resources to get you started and keep you going all year long: Chicago experts who will break down what you can do, how, why and when. video clips and hear first hand about how to raise fish, bees or chickens in the city for fun and profit- and meet some of the chickens.
