The Site Coordinator / Assistant Site Coordinator is to assist the Senior Project Manager / Project Manager in the supervision of the Safety Supervisor on site. ‘The Senior Project Manager / Project Manager and the Safely Officer Supervisor are to implement the necessary safety measures on site in order to ensure that a safe, healthy working environment is always maintained. A safety management system / safety program is to be documented by the Safety Officer for every project upon commencement of the project and it shall meets the requirements as laid down by the relevant goverment authority and / or the Client. The Senior Project Manager / Project Manager upon consultation with the safety officer shall appoint a Safety Supervisor to assist in the implementation and enforcement of safety program on site. All sites are to form their own individual Site Safety Committee comprising of chapels from major trades and which is chaired by the Senior Project Manager / Project Manager and attended by the Safety Supervisor, sub-contractors and relevant Site Staff. The Safety Supervisor is responsible for the issuance and recording of personal protective equipment (e.g. safety boots, safety helmets, eye goggles and safety belts where necessary) to direct workers at the work sites (FORM i i | | { i 16.4.3 16/01) and to ensure that all workers and visitors put on the necessary personal protective equipment when on site. The Site Safety Committee Meetings are to be conducted at least once a month to review the current safety , environment, health and housekeeping standards, and to promote safety awareness on site. Minutes of meetings shall be recorded. Safety Supervisor with the assistance of the Safety Officer if necessary, is to ensure that the following are performed : + Investigate accidents, put up accidents reports and recommend corrective actions (FORM $16/03) + Compile all relevant reports and records (e.g. accidents statistics) + Liaise with relevant authorities such as DOSH, Labour Department and SOCSO. + Record Minutes of the Site Safety Committee Meetings + Attend safety patrol + Conduct daily tool box meeting with workers and sub-contractors + Implement all other safety and health measures as required by relevant government authorities + Carry out daily safety inspections on site + Conduct weekly safety inspections on site (FORM $16/02) + Ensure the compliance with the provisions of the Factories and Machinery Act. Housekeeping and Environmental Health. The Senior Project Manager / Project Manager and Site Safety Officer / Supervisor / Health / Security Supervisor are responsible for ensuring that a clean and tidy site is maintained. The Site Coordinate / Assistant Site Coordinators is to assist in the Senior Project Manager / Project Manager in the supervision of the Health / Security Supervisor on site.
