1 Safety Precautions

1.1 Safety Overview


This paper introduces some general safety precautions that should be observed
when installing, operating and maintaining micro-module data center equipment.

Note:

Please observe the local safety regulations when performing various operations. The safety
precautions introduced in this manual only serve as a supplement to local safety codes.

Installation requirements
◆ The personnel responsible for installing the equipment must undergo strict
training, understand various safety precautions and master the correct operation
methods before installing the equipment.

◆ It is not allowed to operate the facilities of this project or enter the non-
construction areas of this project in the computer room. If there are special
requirements, the user's permission is required.

◆ During the installation, the operator should strictly follow the operation steps and
installation requirements.

◆ During the installation process, the operator should report the faults or errors
that may cause safety problems to the person in charge in time.

Grounding requirements
The following requirements are only for equipment that needs grounding:

◆ Do not destroy the grounding conductor.

◆ When installing the equipment, it must be grounded first. When dismantling the
equipment, finally dismantle the ground cable.

◆ Before turning on the power supply, the protective ground cable of the
equipment casing must be grounded firstly, and check whether the insulation
resistance and grounding resistance meet the specified values and whether the
power grounding of the equipment is in good condition.

Personal security

◆ Construction personnel must have basic knowledge of safe operation, receive


professional training, master correct operation methods and have
corresponding operation qualifications.

Caution:

FiberHome will not take any responsibility for the damage to individuals or equipment
caused by construction personnel's failure to operate according to the requirements
of this manual.

◆ The number of constructors should be determined according to the specific


project schedule and installation environment, and it is generally advisable to
have 3 to 5 constructors.

◆ It is forbidden to install, operate equipment and lay cables in thunderstorm


weather. Direct contact or indirect contact with high-voltage power supply
through conductive objects is prohibited.

◆ It is forbidden to install or remove the power cord with electricity. Do not plug the
unplugged power cord directly into the socket.

◆ It is forbidden to look naked at the tail fiber section with both eyes to prevent the
laser beam from burning eyes. Wear safety glasses when necessary.

◆ Before operating the equipment, wear anti-static overalls and anti-static


bracelets, and remove easily conductive objects such as jewelry and watches
to prevent being hit or burned.

◆ During operation, tools should be insulated and protected, and tools (soldering
irons, etc.) should be used and placed correctly to avoid personal injury and
damage to equipment or circuit boards.

◆ In case of fire, evacuate the building or equipment area and press the fire alarm
bell or call the fire alarm. Under any circumstances, it is strictly forbidden to enter
the burning building again.

Equipment safety
◆ Before operation, the equipment should be reliably fixed on the floor or other
stable objects, such as walls or mounting brackets.

◆ In the process of moving or lifting the equipment, avoiding the collision between
the equipment and other hard objects.

◆ When the system is running, do not block the vent.

◆ When installing the panel, if screws need to be tightened, tools must be used.

◆ After installing the equipment, please clear the empty packaging materials in the
equipment area.

1.2 Mechanical Safety


Transportation
◆ Equipment must be handled by professionally trained personnel. The whole
machine box can be unloaded from the car and placed by using a forklift, and
the fork of the forklift is in the middle position to ensure symmetry.

◆ When transporting, try to choose railway transportation, sea transportation or


roads with good road conditions. Do not over-bump and tilt during transportation,
and the left-right tilt angle of the equipment during loading or unloading should
not exceed 15, as shown in Figure 1-1.

◆ In order to avoid tipping over, please fasten the whole box firmly on the forklift
with ropes before moving, and personnel are required to take care of it when
moving.

◆ The cabinet must be moved carefully to avoid any impact or drop that may
damage the equipment.

◆ Try to move the equipment to the nearest place to the installation location before
unpacking. Be careful during unpacking to avoid scratching or bumping. Try not
to remove the equipment from the pallet before installation.

Drilling holes
◆ It is forbidden to drill holes on the cabinet by yourself. Drilling holes that do not
meet the requirements will destroy the electromagnetic shielding performance
of the cabinet and internal cables, and the metal chips generated by drilling
holes will enter the cabinet and cause short circuit of the circuit board.

◆ When drilling, we must strictly follow the drilling safety operation rules, confirm
the drilling position, size and depth before operation.

◆ When drilling, goggles should be worn to avoid eye injury caused by flying metal

scraps.

◆ After drilling, remove the generated scraps with tools in time, and it is forbidden
to take them by mouth.

◆ When using tools such as percussion drill, you should operate according to the
tool usage specification to avoid personal injury.

Sharp object
◆ When handling equipment by hand, wear protective gloves to avoid cutting your
hands by sharp corners of the equipment.

Fan
◆ When replacing parts, pay attention to put away parts, screws, tools and other
objects to avoid falling into the running fan and damaging the fan or equipment.

◆ When replacing the equipment around the fan, don't put your fingers or veneer
into the running fan before the fan is powered off and stopped running, so as to
avoid hurting your hands or damaging the equipment.

Carrying heavy objects


◆ Please wear protective gloves when handling heavy objects to avoid scratching
your hands.

◆ When handling heavy objects, be prepared to bear the load to avoid being
crushed or sprained by heavy objects.

◆ When pulling the chassis out of the cabinet, be careful of the equipment that
may be unstable or heavy on the cabinet to avoid being crushed or bruised.

◆ Generally, it takes two people to carry the chassis. It is forbidden to carry the
heavy chassis alone. When handling the chassis, keep the back straight and
move smoothly to avoid sprain.

◆ When moving or lifting the chassis, you should hold the chassis handle or hold
the bottom edge of the chassis, instead of holding the handle of the installed
module in the chassis.

1.3 Climbing Operation Safety


◆ Before using the ladder, check whether it is firm or not, and use it only after
inspection.

◆ Before using the ladder, check the specified load-bearing size of the ladder.
Overweight use is prohibited.

◆ The width of the ladder bottom shall not be less than 50cm, and anti-skid devices
shall be provided to prevent slipping.

◆ Make sure that the center of gravity does not deviate from the edge of the ladder

frame. Keep your body steady before operation to reduce danger and ensure
safety.

◆ The installation personnel should wear anti-skid shoes when climbing, and the
objects they carry with them should be firmly fixed to avoid the risk of falling or
collision.

◆ Personnel who are installed above the equipment should wear non-slip shoes
when working. It is forbidden to trample on cables and rack equipment during
operation. At the same time, the top of the cabinet should be protected, and no
engineering wastes such as metal scraps should fall on the top of the cabinet.

1.4 Electrical Safety


High-pressure

Warning:

The power supply voltage of the power system is hazardous voltage. Direct contact
or indirect contact with these parts through wet objects will bring fatal danger. Non-
standard and incorrect operation may cause accidents such as fire or electric shock.

◆ High-voltage power supply provides power for the operation of equipment.


Direct contact with high-voltage power supply or indirect contact with wet objects
will bring fatal danger.

◆ Irregular and incorrect high-voltage operation will cause accidents such as fire
or electric shock.

Large leakage current


◆ The equipment must be grounded before turning on the power supply, otherwise
it will endanger personal and equipment safety.

◆ If the sign of "Large Leakage Current" is affixed near the power terminal of the
equipment, the protective grounding terminal of the equipment case must be
grounded before connecting the AC input power supply to prevent the leakage
current of the equipment from causing electric shock to human body.

Power cord
◆ It is forbidden to install or remove the power cord with electricity. When the
power cord touches the conductor, it will produce electric arc or spark, which
may cause fire or eye injury.

◆ Before installing and removing the power cord, the power switch must be turned
off.

◆ Before connecting the power cord, you must confirm that the label of the power
cord is correct before connecting.

ESD requirement
◆ Static electricity generated by human body will damage static sensitive
components on single board.

◆ When people move, clothes rub, shoes rub against the floor or ordinary plastic
products are held by hand, the human body will generate electrostatic
electromagnetic field, which is not easy to disappear before discharge.

◆ Before touching the equipment, holding the single board or special integrated
circuit chip, etc., in order to prevent the sensitive components from being
damaged by human static electricity, you must wear an antistatic wrist strap,
and the other end of the antistatic wrist strap should be well grounded.

◆ Anti-static wristband wearing is shown as Figure 1-2

1.5 Battery Safety


Before installing, operating and maintaining the battery, please read the instructions
provided by the battery manufacturer. The safety precautions in this manual are only
as important reminders. For more safety precautions, please refer to the instructions
provided by the battery manufacturer.

Warning:
Battery short circuit will produce a strong spike in current and release a large amount
of heat energy that may cause personal injury.

◆ Battery life decreases as the ambient temperature increases. Regular


maintenance for the battery can extend its service life.

◆ The battery must be installed and maintained by relevant professionals.

◆ The battery has a risk of electric shock and short circuit. To avoid accidents such
as electric shock and injury, please observe the following warnings when the
battery is installed and maintained:

➢ When the battery is disassembled, do not wear watches, rings or similar


metal objects, and please use insulated tools;

➢ Please wear rubber shoes and gloves to disassemble and install the battery;

➢ Do not put metal tools or similar metal parts on the battery;

➢ Before the battery is disassembled and installed to connect the terminals,


the load or charger connected to the battery must be disconnected.

◆ Please do not throw the battery into the fire, which may cause an explosion and
endanger personal safety.

◆ Please do not short-circuit the positive and negative terminals of the battery,
which will lead to dangerous accidents such as electric shock or fire.

1.6 Photovoltaic Component Safety


Before installing, operating and maintaining the photovoltaic component, please read
the instructions provided by the photovoltaic component manufacturer. The safety
precautions in this manual are only as important reminders. For more safety
precautions, please refer to the instructions provided by the photovoltaic component
manufacturer.

Warning:

Before installation, maintenance and other operations, safety helmet, goggles,


insulating gloves and protective clothing shall be worn to prevent personal injury.

During installation, maintenance and other operations, the solar photovoltaic module
shall be completely covered with opaque materials to prevent electric shock caused
by current.

It is forbidden to focus the sunlight directly on the module with a plane mirror or lens,
which may cause damage to the solar photovoltaic module and personal injury.

When handling components, do not lift the junction box and electrical cables.

Be careful when handling to avoid damage caused by collision. Nonstandard


handling and placement may lead to glass breakage and loss of electrical
performance of solar photovoltaic components, resulting in the loss of use value of
solar photovoltaic components.

When there is strong wind, it is forbidden to install solar photovoltaic components at


heights.

During the installation and maintenance of high support, the bracket platform must
be built and the safety helmet and safety belt must be worn.

It is forbidden to drill holes, step on and place heavy objects on the solar photovoltaic
components to prevent damage.

When handling and installing solar photovoltaic components, there should be at least
two people. The stress point is the aluminum frame of solar photovoltaic components.
It is forbidden to apply stress on the front or back of solar photovoltaic components
by overhead or other means, resulting in hidden cracks of solar cells.

3 Installation Preparation

Note:

The pictures in this manual are only for reference of installation and maintenance.
Please refer to the actual received products.

3.1 Cable Preparation


All cables shall meet the requirements of local regulations, standards and customer
requirements. The cross-sectional area of the power cable is selected according to
the current flowing through the cable and the allowable cable voltage drop. The cable
specifications are for reference only, and the details shall be subject to the actual
situation on site.

Before installation, the following tools and instruments should be prepared, as shown

3.3 Planning Installation Space


According to the installation space planning and ground planning of cabinets,
determine the occupied space of cabinets. The schematic diagram of cabinet
installation space dimension is shown in Figure 3-1.

Note:

➢ Cabinet should not be installed in high temperature, dusty, harmful gas,


inflammable, explosive and unstable voltage environment.

➢ The installation point should not be close to trees or other plants, so as to avoid
insects being sucked in by the fan of the heat dissipation system and affecting
the normal operation of the equipment.

➢ In wet and low-lying installation points, it is recommended to improve the


installation foundation to prevent water from entering the bottom of the cabinet.

➢ The distance between the installation point and residents should be > 10m, for
reducing the impact of noise on the Residents. And the cabinet should face away
from the Residents.

3.4 Cable Holes Description


The cable holes dimension at the cabinet bottom is shown below.

4 Cabinet installation

4.1 Installation Precautions


◆ When installing the cabinet, please wear protective gloves to avoid scratching
hands and the cabinet.

◆ During handling, do not drag the cabinet directly to avoid damaging the coating
on the bottom of the cabinet.

◆ During handling, attention should be paid to prevent the cabinet from tilting and
overturning, and operators should protect themselves.

4.2 Prepare the Concrete Plinth


Before mounting the cabinet, please build a concrete plinth and pre-install 4 anchor
bolts on it according to the diagrams shown below.

4.3 Remove the Front and Back Cover Plate


Remove the front and back cover plate at the bottom of the cabinet by using a Philips
screwdriver.

Note:

When all installation steps are completed, the cables are laid and checked, then the
cover plates should be covered again.

4.4 Lift the Cabinet to the Concrete Plinth

Note:

Before hoisting the cabinet, put some protective materials (e.g. sponge pad) between
the cabinet and the lifting rope to protect the cabinet from scratching.

Route the lifting rope through the bottom of the cabinet. Use the hoisting equipment
to lift the cabinet up. Adjust the position of the cabinet to align the mounting holes
with the anchor bolts in the concrete plinth. Place the cabinet carefully on the
concrete plinth.

4.5 Secure the Cabinet


Secure the cabinet with the nuts, spring washers and flat washers.

4.6 Connect and Lay Ground Cable


The ground cable of the cabinet is yellow green (recommended) cable, as shown in
Figure 4-5. The sectional area of outer ground cable is about 35mm2.

Use a knife to cut open the sealing rubber at the cable hole at the bottom of the
cabinet. Pass the ground cable through the cable hole. Make an OT terminal for the
ground cable. The size requirements are shown in Figure 4-6.

Connect the ground cable to the M8 hole of the ground bar, as shown in Figure 4-7.

Note:

Measure the grounding resistance with a grounding resistance measuring instrument to ensure
that the grounding resistance is less than 10Ω.

◆ The connection points at both ends of the working grounding cable should
ensure good electrical contact, and do a good job in anti-corrosion and anti-rust
treatment.

◆ There should be no joint between the grounding cables.

◆ It is forbidden to install switch or fuse on the ground cable.

◆ The grounding cable and signal cable shall not be parallel or intertwined to
reduce mutual interference.

5 Components Installation

5.1 Install the Photovoltaic Module


The photovoltaic modules are packing separately before delivery. So the modules
should be installed at the construction site.

Caution:
Do not put your hand into the module slot to avoid electric shock. Non-professional
maintenance personnel are not allowed to insert, remove, or replace the photovoltaic
module.

The mounting methods of the two kinds of modules are the same. Before mounting,
please make sure the module slot to be installed is matched with the module type.

1. Hold up the module, insert it into the corresponding slot;

2. Slowly push the module until its front panel is flush with the panel of the embedded
power supply system;

3. Fasten the screws on the front panel clockwise to lock the module.

6 Cable Connection and Laying

6.1 Cable Laying Requirements


Cable laying principle

◆ The specification, route, section and position of laying cables shall comply with
the provisions of the construction drawing, and the laying of cables and the use
of ports shall be convenient for maintenance and future expansion.

◆ Cables must be arranged neatly, without damage to the skin, all kinds of cables
should not be pulled hard, and appropriate allowance should be left.

◆ The AC/DC power supply and signal cables should be arranged separately to
avoid being in the same harness. When it is impossible to avoid the same route,
the interval should be at least 5cm.

Cable bending principle

◆ All kinds of cables should not be bent excessively at the bend to protect the cable
from damage.

◆ The bending radius of the cable should be ≥ 5~10 times of the cable diameter.

Layout principle of power cable

◆ Including the ground cable, power cable should be in accordance with the
principle of shortest, according to the actual routing needs, on-site processing.

◆ The power cable must be made of the whole length of cable, with no connector
in the middle.

Cable binding principle

◆ The cables must be carefully tied up with cable ties, and the spacing between
the thread buckles should be kept even and the tightness should be moderate.
The bundled cables should be close to each other, the appearance should be
straight and neat, and cannot be entangled with each other, as shown in Figure
6-1.

◆ The cable outlet of the plug shall be bundled in fan-shaped order, and the cable
shall not be wound, as shown in Figure 6-2.

◆ The thread buckle shall be cut neatly without sharp angle. The buckle should be
in one direction as far as possible, as shown in Figure 6-3.

◆ When the bundled cables are bent, the binding tape should not be tied at the
turning point, otherwise the inner core may be broken. The binding method is
shown as Figure 6-4.

6.2 Connect and Lay the Solar Power Supply


Cable
Route the solar power supply cable into the cabinet from the bottom left cable hole.
Make the cable ends into tube type terminals.

Connect the tube type terminals onto the photovoltaic DC fuse, which has already
connected with the solar power input ends of the 48V embedded power supply
system before delivery.

The wiring diagram is shown as Figure 6-5.

The solar power supply cable is ≥4mm2.

Warning:

Before installing or removing the power cable, it is necessary to ensure that the
switch of the power supply system is off, and it is strictly forbidden to install or remove
the power cable with electricity.

6.3 Connect the Lithium Battery Cable


The lithium batteries are installed in the battery cabinet. Before connecting the
battery cable, please remove the top and front cover on the 48V embedded power
supply system. The positive battery cable is connected to RTN+ busbar M8 bolt. The
negative battery cable is connected to BAT- circuit breaker input transferring copper
bar M8 bolt. The communication cable of the lithium battery is connected to Z2-(A4
B4) on the FSU.

6.4 Connect the Communication Signal Cable


For enhancing the protection level, the FSU is covered with a protective shield.
Before connecting the cables on the FSU, the protective shield have to be removed
by loosening the screws on either side of the shield, as shown in Figure 6-7.

Pass the cables to be connected through the water-proof connectors on the


protective shield, then connect them onto the FSU. Finally, recover the shield onto
the FSU. The instruction of the water-proof connectors is shown in Figure 6-8 and
Table 6-1.

6.5 Connect Load Power Supply Cable


6.5.1 Connect AC load power supply
The inverter and the PDU can provide 4 220Vac load power output ports in all, as

6.5.2 Connect DC load power supply cable


DC load power supply terminals are on the right side of the cabinet. Positive pole
and negative pole each have 8 terminals. The positive terminals are all short-circuit
connected. The output voltage is -42Vdc~-58Vdc.

6.6 Seal Cable Holes


After cable connection, be sure to seal cable holes with mud plugs for reducing the
probability of animals entering the cabinet.

7 Lithium Battery Installation

7.1 Unpacking Inspection


Check whether the packing box is damaged. If it is seriously damaged, do not open
it without permission, and immediately notify the carrier and manufacturer. Check
the reference packing list.

7.2 Install the Lithium Battery


The lithium battery is installed in the battery cabinet. The mounting ears on both
sides of the battery are used for fixing the battery in the cabinet. Please use 4 M6×16
screws and square snap nuts to reliably fix the battery. The bottom of the battery
pack needs to be equipped with a tray to bear the weight to prevent the mounting
ears from being deformed by the long-term force.

7.3 Connect the Battery Cables

7.3.1 Grounding
Unscrew the screw at the grounding hole on the battery panel, install the matching
yellow and green cable on the OT terminal, then wind it on the screw and tighten it
with a screwdriver.

7.3.2 Connect the power cable


Connect the positive/negative pole of battery to the positive/negative pole of power
supply system. Before connecting, please distinguish the positive and negative
polarity of input and output terminals.

7.3.3 Connect the communication cable


The communication between the batteries and the upper computer/FSU can be
realized through 485 communication cable, for monitoring the running status of the
batteries.

7.4 Multiple Batteries Connection


When installing multiple batteries, RS485 cascade mode is adopted. RS485A on
battery 1 connects to RS485B on battery 2. And so on, all the way to the last battery.
Finally, connect the RJ-45 interface vacated on the head/tail battery with the interface
of FSU with a network cable.

7.5 Set the Battery Dial Address


Each lithium battery has a different address, from 0001, 0011 to 1111. A total of 15
batteries can be installed. Description of battery dial address rules is shown below.
Set the battery dial address according to the rules.

8.1 Photovoltaic Bracket Introduction


Station energy photovoltaic bracket adopts landing piles installation. It provides
power supply for station equipment and shelter for station cabinet and personnel
operation. The appearance diagram of photovoltaic bracket before and after
installation of photovoltaic panel is shown in Figure 8-1.

8.2 Installation Precautions


◆ The construction shall be carried out in strict accordance with the station
scheme drawings;

◆ The bolts of photovoltaic bracket shall be fastened reliably, and the key nodes
shall be fastened with double nuts;

◆ Reliable lightning protection grounding shall be made at the pile column of


photovoltaic bracket, which shall be connected with the station grounding grid.

8.3 Installation Steps


1. Check the packing list and check the completeness of materials;

2. Level the ground and pour concrete according to the overall size requirements
of photovoltaic support;

3. Anchor bolts shall be embedded according to size requirements. The next


installation operation can be carried out until the concrete become dry and hard,
and the anchor bolts are stable.

10 Configuration After Installation

Dial the battery address switch (as shown below) on the battery panel according to
the rules in Table 7-1 and Table 10-1.
