Plastic surgery is criticized for teenagers as every surgery carries risks and undergoing unnecessary procedures for appearance rather than health reasons is unwise. Teenagers may end up looking worse or have side effects from surgery. Additionally, resorting to plastic surgery to improve confidence could lead to endless surgeries with increasing risks and damage to health as teenagers feel they need more procedures. Therefore, plastic surgery is not recommended for teenagers despite its potential benefits.

Though increasingly prevalent among teenagers, plastic surgery is criticized by
some to be unnecessary and even harmful for teenagers. I won’t recommend adolescents to undergo such surgery either. For one thing, every surgery comes with risk. Taking such risk for the desire of having more attractive appearance instead of the dire need for health in unwise. Young beauty-seekers may end up with even worse looking and other unpleasant side effects. For another thing, resorting to plastic surgery to improve confidence in oneself would lead to endless surgeries and eventually backfire on oneself. If surgery succeeds and teenagers feel better about themselves, they are prone to more surgeries. This would bring about higher and higher risks and impair teenagers’ health. Therefore, despite it’s desirable potentials, plastic surgery is not recommendable, especially for teenagers.
