SUB-DISTRICT PROFILE
INTRODUCTION
The Kamina Sub-District is one of the sub-districts under the Sagnarigu Municipal
health directorate and under the Tamale North Constituency. It shares boundaries
with Tolon District to the North, to the South by Tamale Sub-Metropolis, the East
by Taha Sub-District and West by Choggu Sub- District. The Kamina Sub- District
is made up of a population of 87064 and has a total of 16 facilities, Kanvilli Health
center, Kamina Hospital (6 Medical Research Center), ABF-MILE 9(Airborne
Force Medical Center). Kanvilli Tuunaayili Chps, Zagyuri Chps, Plan Parenthood
Association of Ghana (PPAG), Tania specialist, Habana Medical, Dungu Chps,
Gumani Chps, Gbanyamni Chps, Kogni Chps, Diamed Alternative medical
Hospital, Uprising Maternity home, Nsungnaa medical center and Mansusu
medical center.

RELIGION
Islamic religion constitutes the higher religion of worship in Kamina sub-district.
About 90% of the population practice Islam, and few proportion practice
Christianity and traditional religion.
ECONOMIC ACTIVITY
The people of Kamina sub-district are predominantly farmers, with few been
traders.
POPULATION DENSITY
Kamina sub-district has a total population of 49037 of which 1961 been children
under 5 populations.

PLANNING
A committee of 4 facilitators chair by the sub-district in-charge (Abubakar I.
Yussif) was inaugurated after the sub-district training of Covid 19 was organized
by district level to put in place the necessary arrangement for a successful
campaign. The members include; Abubakar I. Yussif (sub-district in-charge),
Sulemana Wedatu, Akanbasim Wilson and Mohammed Abubakari Sadiq.

COLD CHAIN MANAGEMENT AND ASSESSMENT
The sub-district has a dual purpose fridge and an active fridge tag to monitor the vaccines at the
required temperature range between +2 to +8 degree Celsius. The sub-district diseases control
officer and Chn monitors the fridge temperature in the morning and in evening.
