Assignment activity and guidance

In this assignment, you are to choose an appropriate company (which currently operates in Vietnam)
so that you can collect information for strategic analysis. Your responsibility is to perform a strategic
analysis of the chosen company, using a number of concepts and analytical tools/frameworks in business
strategy. You are requested to write a report to:

1. Briefly introduce the company of your choice. (600 words)


You should briefly describe the chosen company, and its main products and markets.
2. Analyse the impact and influence which the macro environment has on the company and its
business strategies. (1000 words)
You should apply the PESTEL framework to analyse the current conditions in the notable sub-
environments (at least 04 out of 06) on reliable sources of data/information.
3. Apply the outcomes of an analysis, using an appropriate strategic management tool, in a given
market sector. (800 words)

You should apply Porter’s Five Forces model evaluate the competitive forces of a given market sector
for the chosen company.
3.1. Apply appropriate frameworks (e.g. VRIO/VRIN, benchmarking strategic, value chain analysis,
stakeholder analysis) to assess the link between resources, competitive advantages, and sustained
competitive advantages.
