Lesson Objectives Swbat describe the steps of Gel Electrophoresis
Sequence of activities Tell them the structure for the week
Give them the activity and describe the process. Ask Effective
Questions to get them on the right track. Offer the big screen if
they would like to use that.

Assessment The paper that goes along with the activity will serve as a formal
assessment for how well they researched.

Lesson Objectives Swbat match strands of DNA using a Electrophoresis simulation
Sequence of activities -Model the strand of DNA and make sure they understand what
they are building
-Let them build
-Tell them when they need to stop(make sure they don’t take
everything apart because they will finish on Friday)

Each student will be partnered with different people or will be
working by themselves.
Assessment The lab paper will be a formal assessment of how well they
match the given DNA strand and their DNA strand using a
electrophoresis simulation.
Thursday

Lesson Objectives Swbat answer questions about fingerprints, and DNA, when they
are put into groups.
Sequence of activities Tell them that there is a test on Monday and that due to the
shorter period today we will be reviewing today.
