Disposition (2016)

EXPLANATION:

The need for cognition is a stable personality trait that describes individuals’ tendency to

engage in and enjoy effortful cognitive activity (Cacioppo & Petty, 1982). Critical thinking on

the other hand, is a mental trait or habit that is integrated into one's beliefs or actions to

effectively solve problems and make decisions as a result of thinking.

In this panel, we'll try to figure out what the relationship is between the two variables. Also, if

there is a causal path between the need for cognition and the disposition for critical thinking.

First, the correlation between need for cognition in 2016 and critical thinking disposition in 2016

is indicated by rNFC 2016, CTD 2016. Second, the two synchronous relation assesses the synchronous

relationships that exist between NFC (2016) in CTD (2016) and NFC (2022) in CTD (2022) at

the same time points. Third, the two stability relations quantify the stability relationships

between the same variables which is the NFC (2016) that causes a changes in NFC (2022) and

CTD (2016) that also causes a changes in CTD (2022) at different times. Lastly, the two cross-

lagged relations quantify the cross-lagged relationships between the two variables which is the

NFC (2016) in CTD (2022) and CTD (2016) in NFC (2022) at various points in time.
