 Skills: give the position of object in a set using ordinal numbers
 Attitude: Understand the use of ordinal numbers

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Visualizing and identifying the 1st through 20th object of given set from a
given point of reference

(Student will sing & dance)

2. Review
Last meeting, we discuss about Ordering Numbers up
to 1000 from Least to Greatest and
Vice Versa. To make sure that you have still remember and
understand what we have discussed. We have here a set of
numbers all you have to do is to arrange the numbers from
least to greatest. Yes teacher!

2. Presentation
Our lesson for today is all about “Visualizing and
identifying the 1st through 20th object of given set from a
given point of reference”

3. Setting of Standard
But before we start in our proper discussion, here are the
things that a pupil should always do if the teacher is
discussing here in front.

1. Sit properly
2. Be quite
3. Raise your hand if you want to answer
4. Listen to the discussion

Can I expect that from you class?

C. New Lesson
1. Teaching Modeling

Numbers that are used to represent the rank or position of

an object or a person are known as ordinal
numbers. Ordinal numbers or ordinals are written using
numerals as prefixes and adjectives as suffixes. For
example, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and so on. We
can easily identify an ordinal number: it talks about
positioning.

Now let’s learn on how to identify the position of the object

using the ordinal numbers. I have here a picture of an object
I will count the object from 1st to 20th.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th

11th 12th 13th 14th 15th

6th 7th 8th 9th

10th

16th 17th 18th 19th 20th

Again, lets count the object from left to right.

Are you ready class?

Yes teacher!
And we can count the object from right to left.
Now let’s go back to the object.

What is the object in the 5th position when we start counting

from your left? Gerald?
Papaya teacher!
Very good! Gerald.

What is the position of marang when we start counting

from your left? Nicole?

10th teacher
Excellent! Nicole.

What is the object in the 13th position when we start

counting from your left? Mike?

Very Good! Mike Custard apple teacher!

Who likes to eat fruits?

Why do we need to eat fruits?
Fruits is a great source of vitamins and minerals. It helps to
lower the blood pressure, reduce risk of heart disease and
stroke, prevent some types of cancer. Eating fruits has
many health benefits like keeping digestion normal.

2. Guided Practice

(Arrange me)
Now, let’s have a group activity. I will group the class into
4 groups. I have here a picture of the object with the
corresponding ordinal numbers. All you have to do is
arrange the position of the object in right position from 1st
to 10th in board. The group who can arrange the object in
right position of ordinal numbers will be the winner.
Yes teacher

3. Independent Practice

Let’s have another activity.

Direction: Guess the position of the fruit.

Banana teacher!
If the pomelo is the first fruit….
5th teacher!
Which fruit is 3rd? Faith?

What place is the cotton fruit in? Kylie?
Lanzones teacher!
What place is the papaya in? Paula?
Which fruit is 4th? Brandon?

Very good! All of you got the correct answer.

4. Generalization

Visualizing and identifying the 1st through 20th object of

given set from a given point of reference. Ordinal numbers
tell the position of objects/things or people in a definite
order. For example, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, and so on.
We can easily identify an ordinal number. It talks about
positioning.
IV. EVALUATION
Direction: Look at the picture carefully and write the position of the apple in each row.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Direction: Match the ordinal number into his words.
