The DigCompEdu Framework is a reference framework that defines digital competence for educators.

It comprises 6 areas of digital competence: information and data literacy, communication and
collaboration, digital content creation, safety, problem-solving, and computational thinking.

In the context of Malaysia schools, here's an example of a teaching and learning activity that a
teacher could design based on the DigCompEdu Framework:

Area of competence: Digital Content Creation

Objective: Students will learn how to create engaging and informative digital content to present
research findings.

Steps:

1. Introduce the concept of digital content creation and explain why it is important in today's
world.

2. Show examples of effective digital content (e.g., videos, infographics, websites) and discuss
the characteristics that make them engaging and informative.

3. Assign students a research topic and ask them to work in groups to create digital content
that presents their findings.

4. Provide guidance on how to use digital tools and platforms (e.g., Canva, Powtoon, Wix) to
create the content.

5. Provide opportunities for peer feedback and revise the content based on feedback.

6. Have students present their digital content to the class and provide feedback on each other's
work.

7. Reflect on the process and discuss how students can apply what they learned in future
projects.

By designing this activity, the teacher is integrating the DigCompEdu Framework's digital content
creation competency into their lesson. This activity helps students develop skills related to creating
digital content, such as using multimedia tools and designing effective visual communication, while
also promoting collaboration and communication skills.
