Dear Member,

This mail is being sent under the advice of MSDE (Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship) and NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation)

As you are aware, the Apprentices Act, 1961 (amended upto 2014) is mandatory for all organizations
to be compliant with. It is obligatory for employers with a headcount of 30 or more to engage
apprentices in a band of 2.5% to 15% of total manpower strength including the contractual staff in
each financial year.

Skilling for enhancing employability and employment is the main agenda for Govt of India and hence
they are tracking compliance of every Co. in all sectors with the apprenticeship Act 1961, very
aggressively. Show cause notices have been received by many of our member Co.s too.

Hence the main purpose of writing this mail is to advise and strongly recommend your organization
to become compliant with the law of the land as urgently as possible, following the guidelines laid
out by Govt of India. Obviously, offence, penalties, legal actions, etc. are not a good situation to be
in.

Apprenticeship team at IT-ITeS SSC, NASSCOM is all keen to help, guide and support all our member
Co.s in choosing the most optimal business model for implementing apprenticeship in your
organization, which they have been doing very successfully since last more than 4 years.

Please drop an email to sscapprenticeship@nasscom.in

Our continuous endeavour is to go all out to support our member Co.s to be on the right side of the
law, without compromising any of the business imperatives.

Regards,
NASSCOM
