SUMMARY
I have been working in the field of education since I was 18.  I started working in child care during high school and then throughout
my college career, while I achieved my degree in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Intervention.  After fifteen years
teaching in the child care setting, I decided that I wanted to work with older school aged students in a public-school setting.  Once I
started teaching small group instruction in reading, I quickly realized I want to be a classroom teacher.  I finished my student-
teaching and graduated in December 2018.  I have been enjoying teaching in my own classroom since August, 2019.

SKILLS

EXPERIENCE

08/2022 to current Long Term Substitute 4th grade- Math


Berlin Brothersvalley School District – Berlin, PA
As the long-term substitute for the school year, it was my duty to create a welcoming atmosphere for
the students while implementing the behavior system and curriculum. My daily responsibilities include
planning and implementing curriculum and assessments, conducting parent/teacher conferences,
attending meetings pertaining to my students’ education and their growth, issuing progress reports, and
participating in Professional Development training. During this school year, I also worked with Mrs.
Stern to instruct the Elementary LEGO League after school. I am also a 4th grade after school tutor.
My duties include planning and implementing lessons to reinforce skills in all content areas.
Long Term Substitute/Building Substitute
Berlin Brothersvalley School District – Berlin, PA
08/2021 to 8/2022 As a long-term substitute for the beginning of the school year, it was my duty to create a welcoming
atmosphere for the students while implementing the classroom teacher’s behavior system and
curriculum. My daily responsibilities include planning and implementing curriculum and assessments
in all content areas, creating a classroom schedule, conducting parent/teacher conferences, attending
meetings pertaining to my students’ education and their growth, issuing progress reports, and
participating in Professional Development training. I was further trained in Schoology and
Powerschool, since BBSD uses both systems. As a 1st grade teacher, I was trained in Seesaw and use
this technology as a center activity. The 1st grade teacher returned in November and I then took my
next position as a 2nd grade ELA teacher. I worked with all of the 2nd graders in a regular education
setting. During my time as the 2nd grade ELA teacher (November – April), I revamped the guided
reading program, made adjustments to their center time work to include a vocabulary center, set up a
Remind code for an easier form of communication with families, made daily folders on Schoology that
included all work and activities for those students who were unable to attend class due to quarantine,
and made adjustments to their reading assessments to include TDA and grammar. I also attended
meetings pertaining to my students’ education and growth. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was my
duty in both classroom settings to work with students who were present in class and learning from
home during a quarantine period. For the remainder of the school year, I am the district’s building
substitute teacher. It will be my daily duty to implement the teacher’s lesson plans and fulfill their daily
duties.

Kindergarten Teacher
St. Peter’s School – Somerset, PA
As a Kindergarten teacher, my daily responsibilities include planning and implementing curriculum and
assessments in all content areas, creating my own classroom schedule, conducting parent/teacher
conferences, and attending meetings that included the I.U. teachers pertaining to my student’s

quickly learn the Heggerty and SGAT programs to incorporate them into my lessons. Due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, I also had to teach virtually this school year to the whole class and sometimes
just specific students.

2nd Grade Teacher

As a 2nd grade teacher, my daily responsibilities include planning and implementing curriculum and
assessments in all content areas, creating my own classroom schedule, conducting parent/teacher
conferences, and attending meetings that included the I.U. teachers pertaining to my students'
education, issued progress reports, organized and ran an after school baking club, had morning and

During these few months, I have experienced teaching in different grade levels. I implement the lesson
plans the teachers have made available to me.

Student Teaching – 4th Grade Sheckler Elementary - Catasauqua, PA


During my 15 weeks of student teaching, I planned and implemented a 4th grade curriculum in all

Professional Development training with my mentor teacher.

Reading Para Educator


Whitehall-Coplay School District - Whitehall, PA
09/2018 to 12/2018 As a Reading Para Educator, my daily responsibilities included implementing curriculum in phonics,
fluency, and comprehension in small groups.  I had groups of 1-8 students at a time during small group
instruction.  I also monitored students in fluency and comprehension.  I assisted the reading specialist in
testing new and current students in phonics, fluency, and comprehension.  I also collected data and
input data for the reading data meetings.  My employment at Zephyr elementary also included helping
in the breakfast program as a monitor.

ACTIVITIES AND HONORS


In the past, before we moved, I volunteered in my church as Catechists for 7th grade students, assisted
with the church youth choir, and I am a volunteer coach for my community's U-6 soccer organization. I
was involved in our local community theater group, Catasauqua Area Showcase Theater, with my
daughter. We performed “Addams’ Family” in April 2019. I volunteer in my church, St. John the
Baptist in New Baltimore, as a Catechist for 9th and 11th grade students.
