Online customer reviews of products and services have become very important for both
businesses and shoppers these days. What are the advantages and disadvantages of online
reviews?

Write at least 250 words.

Today, millions of people place their personal feedbacks online by helping others to make the
purchase on the same. They judge the business of the company by the star ratings and the
defined comments with pictures by other customers. Thus, it helps the customers to choose
better options. However, the influence of negative comments made the company lose their
market while the positives make it improve the satisfaction level of customers more.

The drawback reviews that the businesses receive are sometimes influenced by the competitors
to pull back the good businesses so that the businesses lose the trust of their customers and
other new customers does not also make business with them. Besides, various opponents fill
bad reviews on the quality businesses and they are tons of those in the internet. A popular shoe
company in Nepal, Goldstar famous for its non-leather shoes, was once falsely accused by their
competitors for doing leather shoes business in market. However, it was later clarified by the
company that they are pure synthetic materials only and then still retained the confidence of
existing and made new ones as well. Apart from such negative reviews, there are more boosting
comments that are positive to the businesses.

There are many new start ups in the market than the past and in order to last in the market they
produce quality and reasonable value products. These businesses are increasingly booming because
businesses share positive and real commendable comments and more customers flock through to
get a better quality products from the business. One such business in Nepal is a burger joint named
Dr. Burger. It caters its customers freshly made buns and farmed ingredients to make a perfect
burger.

Thus, though it has disadvantages aspects, the advantages cannot be overshadowed.
