Exercises Meeting 2

1. What is the meaning of “CPU”?

• Is the most important processor in a given computer. Its electronic circuitry
executes instructions of a computer program, such as arithmetic, logic, controlling,
and input/output operations.

2. What are the component of inside a computer?

• Central Processing Unit (CPU), Motherboard, Graphics Processing Unit (GPU),
Random Access Memory (RAM), Storage: Solid State Drive (SSD) or
Hard Disk Drive (HDD).

3. What is the meaning of “ALU”?

• A combinational digital circuit that performs arithmetic and bitwise operations on
integer binary numbers.

4. Can you explain about ROM, and RAM? With your own words
• Read-only memory, is a type of computer storage containing non-volatile,
permanent data that, normally, can only be read, not written to.
• Random Access Memory a computer's short-term memory, where the data that the
processor is currently using is stored. Your computer can access RAM memory
much faster than data on a hard disk, SSD, or other long-term storage devices,
which is why RAM capacity is critical for system performance.

5. What are some including the hardware computer?

• Motherboard, CPU (Central Processing Unit or processor), RAM (Random Access
Memory), HDD (Hard Disk Drive), SSD (Solid State Drive), GPU (Graphics
Processing Unit), PSU (Power Supply Unit).

6. Mentioned examples of “Input Device” and “Output Device”!

• Examples of input devices include keyboards, mouse, scanners, cameras, joysticks,
and microphones.
• Examples of output devices include monitors, printers, speakers, headphones,
projectors, GPS devices, optical mark readers, and braille readers.
7. Mentioned examples of "Storage Device”!
• Data storage device, a device for recording information, which could range from
handwriting to
• video or acoustic recording, or electromagnetic energy modulating magnetic tape
and optical discs.
• Object storage device, computer storage device.
• Portable storage device, small hard drive, or pen drive.
• Cloud storage services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and many more.
