1. Have you observed the behavior of a cup of coffee when you are on a car?
Explain in terms of the first law of Newton what happens with the behavior of
the coffee in the following two situations:

a. Starting the car from rest.

The coffee would start to shake, but the walls of the cup would be
stopping it, it will stay in the same position.

b. Breaking the car from a movement state.

Coffee would have a sudden movement that could even come out of
the cup.

2. Imagine a place in the cosmos far away from all influence of gravity and
friction. Suppose you visit that place and throw a rock. What would
happen to the rock? Will it stop? Will it continue moving? Explain.

I think it will keep moving because in space the objects do not stop, they can
keep their initial speed to infinity.

3. Determine if the following arguments are true or false. Explain each of

them.

a. Two objects of the same mass have the same weight. TRUE

If they have the same gravity yes, the formula to get weight is
mass x gravity and since they have the same mass, they have
the same weight.

b. Two objects of the same size have the same mass. FALSE

It can be true, or it can be false depending on the factors of

the two objects

c. An object with more mass experiments a greater acceleration

due to Earth’s gravity. TRUE

Since the mass does not affect the acceleration due to gravity
in any measurable way

d. An object with less mass experiments a smaller gravitational

force. False, because the gravity will always stay the same at
any moment at any point it does not matter that the object has
less mass the gravitational force stayed the same.
