1.

Rubber Shaft Collar – Small circle-like component that has rubber in the hole. Holds a shaft in place and
keeps it apart from sliding off a shaft.
2. Robot Brain – Main component of the robot. Where you can input codes and the brain will perform the
codes by controlling and giving power to the motors and sensors
3. Wheel Hub - Designed to be used with the Travel Tires and has eight attachment holes to attach other
parts to the wheel, while their center hole is a square. The square center hole allows a square pin/shaft to
be inserted and enables power to transfer to the wheels to make it spin. The square center hole allows a
square pin/shaft to be inserted and enable a power transfer to force the wheel to spin.
4. 200mm Travel Tire - Hard rubber surface with tread and pairs with the Wheel Hub.s Allows the VEX IQ
Robot to move forward and backward and turn left and right.
5. 36 Tooth Gear - circular disks that have 36 notches or teeth that mesh together. They Are used to transfer
force from one gear to another.
6. 1x1 Connector Pin – Have 1 equal short connector pin on each side. They Are used to connect the other 2
components.
7. 1x2 Connector Pin - Have 1 short connector pin on one side and 1 long pin on the other. They are used to
connect 3 components.
8. 2x2 Connector Pin – Have 1 equal long connector pin on each side. They are used to connect 4
components.
9. VEX IQ 2.4 GHz Radio – Small chip-like device which is used wirelessly to drive the VEX IQ Robot using the
Controller. 2 radio modules are required - 1 for the Brain and 1 for the Controller
10. IQ Tether Cable – Blue long cables that are used to connect the Robot Brain to the Controller, allows for
the wired operation of the robot. It can charge the Controller from the robot and allow the Controller to
be re-calibrated by the Brain's LCD. It allows firmware updates to the Controller from a Computer Qty.
11. Robot Battery - Essential for any electronic component. It provides electronic power to the Brain.
12. Smart Cable – Black cables that are used to connect motors and sensors to the Brain. Can be inserted into
the motor or sensor, and the other end into one of the Smart Ports on the Brain. They vary in size and
length.
13. Shaft Lock Plate - This is often confused with a 2x2 Beam, the difference is the center of a 2x2 beam is
circular. While a Shaft Lock Plate’s center is a square that is used in conjunction with gears, sprockets, and
other mechanical components to secure the shaft in place. It serves as the structure of the VEX IQ Robot
which can hold a maximum of 4 ports of connectors pins.
14. 4x4 Plate – A versatile structural component that can be used in various ways to enhance the functionality
of a VEX IQ robot. It has 25 holes for 25 pegs/connectors to hold.
15. 4x12 Plate – Haves a mounting hole pattern (four 12 holes and three 11 holes) which is similar to the 2x2
Beam mounting hole pattern. Has 81 holes for 81 pegs/connectors which makes a large structure for the
robot.
16. 0.5x Pitch Standoff Extender/Shaft Bushing – Has 1 connector and 1 square hole and can add height,
provide clearance, support heavy components, and improve stability making it a valuable addition to any
robot design. It also connects a component to a shaft.
17. Washer - Washers are thin black discs that can be used to add space between parts. It is useful to
decrease friction to allow a part to move freely in a build.
18. 0x2 Capped Connector Pin – Connector pins connects pieces so that they will be close to one another. It is
a connector pin with a cap on its side to allow connecting pieces in tight-fitting areas of the robot.
19. End Standoff Connector – End Standoff Connector creates connections between Pitch Standoffs at the
same time creating a pivot point at the end of the standoff.
20. 0.5x Pitch Standoff - Pitch Standoff connects two pieces but leaves a short space in between. Each kind of
standoff has a different gap width that is created by its use.
