 Raghu went to his grandfather’s house for summer vacation. Grand


father took Raghu to their farming fields. On the way Raghu saw a big
three wells and asked grandfather about them. Grandfather said
about them. The three wells belong to water supply scheme of the
village called “comprehensive protected water supply scheme” which
provide potable water (safe drinking water) to the entire village. Each
well of the three wells has a specific function, in the well a water is
collected and stored for a long time so that the impurities are settled
at the bottom. The well B receives water from well A. Well C receives
water from the B through some filter beds. After these activities water
is chlorinated and pumped to overhead tank. From overhead tank
water is supplied to the entire village through pipes.
