Questions:

A. Do you think the universe has a beginning or has it always existed? Explain your answer.
- I personally think that it always had a beginning and I have always believed the big bang theory
because it was said that the universe we know started with an infinitely hot and dense single
point that inflated and stretched. Around 13.7 billion years ago, everything in the entire
universe was condensed in an infinitesimally small singularity, a point of infinite denseness and
heat. Suddenly, an explosive began, ballooning our universe outwards faster than the speed of
light.

I choose these images because on the first picture you can see it started as a hot and indefinitely
dense point it was only a few millimetres wide it was similar to a supercharged black hole. As
you can see on the second picture it violently exploded then all mater, energy, space, time were
created. Both of these images represent the started the theory of big bang
B. Why are other planets incapable to support life? Kindly cite specific examples/characteristics.

- It is at the proper distance from the Sun, has a magnetic field that shields it from solar radiation,
has an insulating atmosphere that keeps it warm, and contains the correct chemistry for life,
including carbon and water.
- Presence of liquid water the earth is situated within the habitable zone
- Heat source the heat that drives the different systems necessary to support life on earth
- Atmosphere photosynthesis ensures the devote amount and flow of gases which are used by
most organisms on the planet.

I chose this image because you can see the distance between the sun and earth. It is the right
distance from the sun. The Earth is kept warm by an insulating atmosphere and it has the right
chemical ingredients for life, including water and carbon, to be a habitable planet for all life
forms. You can also see in the image that the earth’s surface is mostly covered with 71% liquid
water.

C. Why is studying the interactions of the Earth’s four subsystems important to understand?

- Because the four subsystems are closely linked through the biogeochemical cycles. It is
important to study the interactions of the Earth's four subsystems because they work together
to influence the climate, trigger geological processes, and affect life all over the Earth. By
learning about this, we can learn how to minimize our risks from natural disasters such as
earthquakes, volcanoes, slope failures, and damaging storms. We can also learn how and why
Earth's climate has changed in the past, and we can use that knowledge to understand both
natural and human-caused climate change.

I choose this image because you can see the Earth’s

four subsystems Geosphere, Biosphere, Hydrosphere, and Atmosphere. We need to learn about
them and how they interact so that we are prepared to act and adapt to future generations. You
can also look at the image to see that Earth is a closed system which means that the resources
that have been used can never be regenerated.

D. What are the things you are looking forward to be discovered in our universe?

- I’m looking forward to astronomers on finding life on other planets or finding unique planets
such as Kepler-452b, TOI-1452b, and TrES-2b. It would also be useful to find something at mars
because they already found volcanoes, canyons, water, phosphorus, sulphur, nitrogen, oxygen,
phosphorus and carbon. It would also be a shock to discover more about black holes because we
already know that it exists.

TOI-
1452b

TrES-2b
Planet Canyon on Mars

Black Hole

I picked these images because they are all the things that make me want to study more about earth
science because I personally like astronomy and the mystery of space because there is so much more to
learn about in space and there is an endless amount of mystery in space. Of the images that I chose, all
of them are things of beauty in space because we are discovering new stuff about space day by day. I
chose those 3 unique planet images because they are so interesting and I hope astronauts find more
unique planets like them, and I’m hoping that they will find a habitable planet too.
