Objective of the assignment


The assignment seeks to provide students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the
composition of a company’s annual report and the information it conveys. The exercise should enable
students to understand various disclosures made in the financial statements. Preparation of the
assignment should further allow students to demonstrate knowledge acquired during the first
semester of the Accounting, Theory and Practice study unit.

Structure of report
The report should have the following structure:
• Introduction
• Background
o Background to company
o Background to the industry/market
• Results over the last 3 years including:
o Trading performance
o Other results
o Key performance indicators
o Key events/ achievements underlying performance
• Share price history and analysis
• Present (or latest) financial position of the company
• Conclusion
