Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang once again reminded me of how important my vote is. In
his sermon yesterday, he reminded all of us to vote for someone who is transparent, has a
good track record, and does not have any corruption issues. He also mentioned that we must
vote for someone who is willing to serve us and does not prioritize their needs. Moreover, he
also said that we must vote for someone who encourages people to volunteer, be generous,
and be hospitable. Volunteerism, generosity, and hospitality are among those traits that God
wants us to have. With this, only one candidate for president fits his description of an ideal
leader, and so I will vote for that person. I have realized how my one vote can change the
world. If only all of us are critical in choosing our next leader, we won’t have to suffer
anymore. If we only choose those who really care for our country and economy, we won’t
have to worry about our future. This is why on May 09, 2022, I will vote for someone who is
capable of leading our country. I will vote for someone who knows the problem of our nation
and has a solution to it. I will vote for someone who is transparent, honest and has been
serving people for so long. Like what Fr. Maniwang said, I will not waste my vote and use it
properly to cast a worthy leader. As a part of the youth, I will make sure that I vote with no
regrets. I know that this is our moment, especially us, the youth. This moment will soon turn
into history.
