objects, bring the whole class together to share ideas and questions. From these questions, you will work with students to brainstorm more questions on the

the lead of the students. If you are an immersion teacher, you can use language that is appropriate for the level of the students. If you have limited
time with your students, you may want to focus on one question –
for example: Where do people live?Theme: Where do people live? Draw an outline of the
local area on large paper. Take
a neighborhood walk to observe what is around their school. (Students will use disposable cameras to document what they
see.) Make flashcards of shops, parks etc., in Chinese.Children can recreate their neighborhood using boxes, craft materials etc.,Use the flashcards to label each
item on the large paper.
